This wonderful inn is located in the centre of the pretty little village of Pooley Bridge, only moments from the edge of Ullswater Lake. Our spacious, traditional bar features open fires, free WIFI and a relaxing ambiance, which welcomes both dogs and children. On warmer days, enjoy our pleasant outside tables both in our beautiful front garden, and the peace of the Stable Courtyard away from the village bustle. Call us or pop in and say hello!

We went for Sunday lunch and it was decent although my food was cold and I didn’t get roast potatoes. Didn’t have the energy to return it back. Everybody else on the table was very happy with the food and the Yorkshire pudding was amazing! Still a good roast but would have liked it piping hot!

Very average food. Ordered squid starter that arrived within 5 minutes of order being taken. Did not feel like this was freshly made. £9+ for this starter and average cost of £15 + for mains. Pizza was OK, again basecdid not feel freshly made. Atmosphere good. Dogs accepted in the eating area and were petted by the staff. Did not see any evidence of hands being washed by staff after petting dogs. Not great if serving food. Good atmosphere, good selection of beverages. Needs to up it's game on food quality and cleanliness.

Food was so delicious and very filling, (I had the Bridge burger, couldn't eat it all). Atmosphere was friendly and the staff were very polite and helpful. Would definitely eat there again

We went there twice during our short stay in Penrith.Great food, good beers at an affordable price. The staff is also really nice.

Came all the way from Southport for a roast- booked especially only to be told they had stopped serving- at 4pm when we arrived. People next to us sent their food back as they weren’t happy. Sat very close to that family also which I don’t think was necessary as there was other spaces- family very noisy and moaning. Plate was really mucky but I just couldn’t face to send back as was starving

A warm friendly welcome , efficient smiley service , food was good and came quickly - it was simply just a great place to be in - would highly recommend if your in the area and want a good vale pub lunch in a busy pub with a great atmosphere
