This wonderful inn is located in the centre of the pretty little village of Pooley Bridge, only moments from the edge of Ullswater Lake. Our spacious, traditional bar features open fires, free WIFI and a relaxing ambiance, which welcomes both dogs and children. On warmer days, enjoy our pleasant outside tables both in our beautiful front garden, and the peace of the Stable Courtyard away from the village bustle. Call us or pop in and say hello!

This is really nice and friendly establishment in Pooley Bridge and very popular, however we dined here on a not so busy Saturday evening and didn't feel the staff were on there game as they made 2 mistakes, the first was they took the drinks order for the 3 of us and forgot to bring my son's soft drink to the table and the second was my wife and son ordered and shared a pizza and they made the wrong one and was too spicy for my son, they both eat it and without us saying anything it was picked up by the waitress who then came back to our table a few minutes later and apologised and said she had removed the charge for the pizza which in my opinion was the right thing to do, my fish and chips were really nice but at £18.00 very expensive like most places in the area, I would be happy to dine here again even though on this occasion things didn't run as smoothly as they should have done.

Fantastic food quality and also we found all the staff on the day superb, with nothing a trouble and so professional and pleasant.

We had pre booked and though a little early were seated at our table promptly. Our host Daniel was very attentive and friendly and looked after us very well. My elderly mother was with us and they accommodated her mobility needs very well. All together a very good experience

We stayed overnight at the hotel and had dinner there as well. The food, the service, the ambience and the friendliness of the staff were all very good. We will definitely be back.

Lovely location, all staff really friendly and helpful. Proper fire on the go inside, heaters outside at the back and more seating out the front . Will be back .

Great meals only problem was the veg with the steak and cake pie broccoli rock hard and peas not cooked on the whole medal were very good

Arrived 10 minutes early for dinner had to wait on table which wasnt a problem , people coming in without a booking seated before us , chap who showed us to our table gave us menus then wasnt seen again sat down at at 7pm orders for foot taken at 7.50pm , people who came in after us had finished meal before we had our order taken , girl who took order very well mannered and polite , during dinner nobody came near us had to go to bar to order my own drinks for table , after main course would of had dessert but nobody came near us so had to go to bar again to pay bill, have eaten here before and it was fab but this visit was far from acceptable as far as service was concerned And restuarant was far from busy must add chap who delivered food to table very friendly and girl behind bar serving very helpful
