This wonderful inn is located in the centre of the pretty little village of Pooley Bridge, only moments from the edge of Ullswater Lake. Our spacious, traditional bar features open fires, free WIFI and a relaxing ambiance, which welcomes both dogs and children. On warmer days, enjoy our pleasant outside tables both in our beautiful front garden, and the peace of the Stable Courtyard away from the village bustle. Call us or pop in and say hello!

Do not visit here! The front of house “greeter/host” is rude and obnoxious! We finished our walk early so popped into the pub to see if we could get seated early, if this was a problem we would have taking a walk around. When we walked in the man at the door was insulting and rude and scoffed that we was early and that there’s “early, then there is this early” we was 45 mins early. My partner then asked if we was seated outside where we would watch the football. The man replied “well yes, so I don’t have to see or speak to you and you don’t have to see or speak to me, so we are all happy yea”. We was mortified by this. We sat down and everything was fine until as a party of 2 adults and 2 dogs we was asked to share our table with others whilst we was eating food! This was not ok! Again we felt everything settled after this. Some time after the staff came over demanding that a table next to us moved as they had a booking specifically for their table…. There were 4 other tables free. It was then threatened that the TV would be turned off. This could have been a scary situation with glass, drunk individuals l, children and dogs that could have spiralled. The staff did not handle this professionally at all. Notification to that table prior that they needed a table back would as the table said they wouldn’t have spent £200 on drinks if they was told to leave. Would never visit again!!!

Great choice on the menu. Could have picked several main courses. Unfortunately didn’t have room left for a pudding.

We love the Pooley Bridge inn but today wasn’t the best experience 3 of the 5 of us really enjoyed the meal but my daughters pizza was soggy and not much cheese on and the kebab was cold but would definitely revisit

Excellent. Staff so welcoming on entering, prompt & friendly service, food just amazing. Had 2 meals during our week and will definitely return on our next trip to Pooley Bridge. Thanku

Lovely meal. Food was delicious, hot and fast service. David our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Very pleasantly surprised given it was a Saturday night and so busy. Will definitely be back.
