Pony’s executive chef and team are the masters of the wood fire grill, producing contemporary and modern Australian dishes of the season’s freshest produce since its opening in 2006.

In an open kitchen where Exec Chef Neil Nolan enjoys a chat with our guests, the Argentinian grill fuelled by iron bark takes dominance with the menu created around this masterpiece.

Pony is located in Sydney’s oldest cobblestone laneway within the historic and bustling dining precinct of The Rocks offering inside and outside seating. Our carefully crafted boutique selection of wines and delicious cocktail list complements our a la carte and group menus.

All our food was beautifully cooked and seasoned perfectly. Cocktails and wine good too and our server Caitlin was very helpful and friendly. Would def go back or recommend if I’m in Sydney again.

Our food was excellent - we had the squid ink risotto special, rump steak and lamb-rack. The sides are a bit pricey, as they are quite small portions, but that would be my only niggle. Our waitress was exceptional. She recommended the wood roasted macadamia tart for dessert and we all loved it!

We dine on a Monday night , was busy good atmosphere. We were recommend the Oconor sirloin marble score 9 - was cooked over the wood fire . Amazing product . Happy with the service

Waited a long time before receiving food menu and a long time for our mains but the food was amazing. Tables very close together and it was uncomfortable hearing an emotional conversation next to us.

Amazing venue located in historical lane way . Great meat selection from Grass feed to high score marble . With the cooking over wood gave the food a smoke flavouring. Small plates had different offering from European Asian flavoured . Great for experience , will be back

Just Simply AMAZING! Delicious food words cannot describe how truly tasteful it was .. im not a big eater but i managed to devour the kangaroo skewers and the beef steak.. it was just magical.. atmosphere was beautiful and wonderful.. the staff were again Amazing .. service was perfect.. Will HIGHLY recommend it to friends and family

Very poor experience, the seating is poorly organised. The food was absolutely terrible as I ordered a 450g rib eye that was full of fat, I had drove out over an hr to have a good birthday with a couple friends and it was full of disappointment. Been to many steak restaurants and this has been the worst of them all. Also waited over an hr for my steak to come which I paid $90 only for to come out and end up being fatty and barely any meat on there. After I had dined I just got up to pay and left immediately. It’s a place I won’t be returning to.
