Such fresh and flavorful choices on both the starter and entree menu. Wine list is very reasonable with lots of local choices. Had great service throughout our time at Pono. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating dinner at Pono Pacific Kitchen for her birthday last Friday. We enjoyed the crab soup with its layers of flavors. Next we had the Macadamia Nut encrusted Mahi-Mahi which was cooked perfectly with a sauce that was out of this world. We recently visited a Michelin Star Restaurant and Pono’s fish was much better. Where is that star for Pono?

We ate dinner quite early (4:30) and the ambiance was quiet, but inviting. Our server, Clay made recommendations that were spot on! Our entrees were cooked to perfection and every bite was flavorful. This was our fourth visit to Pono Pacific Kitchen and our experience has been consistent - we will continue to visit and enjoy introducing our friends to this local gem!

Fisrt time here. Saw a bunch of good reviews on open table and gave it a try. We had the crab cakes, the seabass, and thr swordfish. All were great! And the service was great as well. Great dining experience! Highly recommend!

As usual, Pono was a magnificent treat! Food preparation was spectacular, with flavor and presentation five stars. Our waitress - Ana - was equally marvelous, with humor and exceptional description of the dishes. We found the prices a bit high for our income level and service occasionally slow ... but for a special night (wife's birthday) you were all just perfect!

Two of us had sea bass, which we had on a previous trip to Pono. This evening the fish was dry and overcooked, our first choice, and the main reason we came was for the Butterfish which they were out of. Certainly disappointing as our second choice was not anything special. Husband had the swordfish. The fish itself was good but the heavy sauce overpowered the fish….a bordelaise more fitting for a steak rather than fish. We came because we had such a good dining experience just a month ago…..maybe an “off” night, but we would not recommend because of this experience. Our server was great, food just ok

We had a memorable meal, started with local oysters then probably the best crab cakes I’ve ever had and finished with the amazing Butterfish. Everyone was so friendly and even though it was only our second visit we felt like regulars. We live a 3/12 hour drive away so can’t go very often, i highly recommend anyone who loves exceptional seafood to give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
