Nestled in downtown Los Gatos, Polenteria serves up Italian cuisine, that is Celiac safe.
We are a small 22 seat restaurant, that is very intimate. With a European feel, many of our guests proclaim that they have been whisked away to Italy or France. We love that!

Many accolades from the SF Chronicle, and the Mercury News as well as Eater SF hail Chef Yvonne and her team at Polenteria for being on the cutting edge of the Gluten Free Movement, and more importantly providing a safe space for those with Celiac to dine without hesitation.

We are a small restaurant and therefore we do have a strict no show- cancellation policy. we need 24 hours or more. Please be considerate of this.

Absolutely incredible meal, from the ambiance and staff to the out of this world food. My husband has celiac, and bread is one of my favorite food groups, so it was wonderful to have a restaurant experience we both could enjoy sans anxiety. The bread plate was SO tasty, and the bruschetta flight was fun and delicious. The pork chop (the special) was phenomenal and perfectly juicy with a lovely complementary sauce and polenta to soak it all up. However the star dish was the gnocchi with fried mushrooms. Wow. Crunchy fried mushrooms, pillowy soft gnocchi, and the best sauce I have ever had in my life. We ended up soaking up the rest of the sauce with the bread. Our server was perfect and the ambiance was cozy, exactly what we were looking for. I can’t wait until we can return and try one of the many other options. It was a delightful and tasty experience for the both of us for my husband’s 40th birthday.

Love it. Fantastic food. My husband was thrilled to enjoy such good bread, given he's gluten free. He's also vegetarian and there were enough options to satisfy him on the menu. I'd recommend this restaurant even to the non-gluten-free. You really can't tell that these are alternative recipes, and the food is delicious. I really hope that they can expand their premises, so that the 1.5 hour limit isn't needed. There was a small delay on our table being available, and they close very early so we were the last in the restaurant at 9:20ish. I'd recommend that they stay open later. They are doing good business, so maybe no need to; but I'd have loved to have had the option to be there later. Keep up the great work - it's much appreciated!

A gluten free gem in the heart of Los Gatos! None of our diners were gluten free, but all the food we had was delicious and we couldn't tell any difference. Just nice to know that we now have this option for our gluten free friends. Even the pasta was gluten free! Although a tiny place, it presented us with a cozy, warm feel. Service was excellent (thanks Norma!) and the food was excellent!

Place is very small, like 7 or 8 tables. Only issue is that everyone is very close together. The service is very responsive and helpful. The food is wonderful. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert. The bread was fluffy, the stuffed risotto balls were incredible (took an extra set home). The halibut was soft, the steak was perfectly cooked. I can't wait to go back and have the bruschetta, they looked delectable.

Loved having dinner with a friend. Did not know that the entire menu is gluten-free -- and DELICIOUS! The Beet/Strawberry salad, Polenta with Mushrooms, and Benights -- YUM! Such a lovely little space with great esthetic.

I hate writing a review for a favorite restaurant, on the principal that it may become too busy and I wont be able to get a table. But I want Polenteria to thrive, because I love the food so much. So, let's be honest, if you didn't know this was a gluten-free menu, you would never guess it. The food is really that good, and the menu that diverse, that you don't miss a thing. Nothing. I had the scallops over risotto, and it was wonderful. The plate was covered with parmesan risotto, cooked to perfection (just a little bite to the rice) and 5 jumbo scallops, also perfectly cooked. The service was very attentive, without seeming annoying at all. If I had any complaint, it is that they could be in a bigger location, so more people could fit in without feeling too close.
