The Plough retains all of its charm & warmth of welcome for both regulars and visitors alike. Located on the main street in the village of Ellington, this impressive old coaching inn offers something for everyone.

Our menus serve the best of local and traditional pub food. Featuring reworked classic English dishes with creative and tasty touches, you owe it to yourself to try one of our delicious meals.

We also pride ourselves on having a great drinks range! There’s a selection of local and regional ales, ciders and a number of our favourite wines. You won’t be disappointed!

A very nice experience all round. We were staying in the area and decided to go for tea one evening. Easy to book in, the place was clean, the staff friendly and the food was really nice. We have two young kids (1&5) and they had a large variety of toys and games to help keep them entertained as well as the usual colouring option. There’s even a play area out the back to make it even more family friendly. Really nice experience and would happily go again when in the area.

Lovely food, with a good choice. Sunday menu is different to main menu, there's also a lunch menu. I had the trio of meats sunday roast, which was excellent, with cauliflower cheese as an extra. It did come with mashed potatoes, which wasn't mentioned in the menu. (Personally not a fan of mash). Great selection of desserts, with something for everyone.

Food was fine, but dining room next to main bar with pool table(very noisy) so not great for diners.

The service was good food was rubbish. For the price of it, it really was a waste of money. The restaurant was next to pool table and the bad language was not good.

Staff were attentive, friendly and gave excellent service. Sunday lunch was really good...especially the cauliflower cheese. Would have preferred beef to be served pink but that's a personal preference and no reflection on the quality of the food.

We came here for lunch whilst staying at Cresswell and thankfully don't live too far away as we will definitely return. We sat in the bar area as had a dog with us and it was clean and very friendly. Our party had a variety of different food and all meals were lovely. The gravy and cauli cheese were possibly the tastiest we've ever had on a Sunday lunch. Drinks prices were also very reasonable.

Very enjoyable lunch. My BLT had the crispy bacon I requested and very tasty. But, for £7.25 I was expecting a bit more than a single slice of tomato, a single slice of bacon and a single lettuce leaf, a slightly fuller sandwich would have gotten the Plough a full house of 5 stars!
