Without a doubt the finest steak and ale pie I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot!). Great menu catering for all tastes, my 11 year old son was impressed by the vegetarian options. All in all a most enjoyable dining experience. Thank you

We had Sunday lunch here last week, the place was quiet and had a very nice ambience. The aroma of food cooking as you went in was delicious. We nearly all had the roast which comes on a plate that is hardly big enough to hold all the delicious vegetables that are produced to accompany the ample offerings already on your plate. The lamb shank was so tender that it fell off the huge bone that it had been cooked on. There was Yorkshire pudding, roast potato, mashed potato, swede and ample gravy and then the cauliflower cheese arrived along with red cabbage, broccoli and carrots! There was no room on my plate! It was such a shame to waste it. But it was all very delicious. The children enjoyed their chips and Cumberland sausage, clean plates all round.

Super meal large portions and everything was super tasty and home cooked food, the staff were all very polite and helpful and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere we have visited a few times now and will definitely be back again no complaints at all brilliant village pub

Celebrated our wedding anniversary with a very enjoyable meal of roast beef with plenty of vegetables, followed by the ice cream. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. Everything was perfect.

A little more attention to detail needed, when we arrived the place mats had crumbs on them, no plates were given for our bread starter despite asking for them, we had to use our napkins but fortunately we were brought more with our main course, coffee machine had broken which was unlucky. The waiter could have done with a clean shirt. Gluten free offerings were very good 👍

Absolutely fabulous food. The steak pie was packed with succulent meat. The fish pie was also full of fresh fish. The steak burger was the tastiest I've ever had and the chicken in the chicken burger was a meal in it's self

Sam and the team do everything to make you welcome at this lovely country pub. The food is great and the Sunday dinner is the best I’ve found around here. Well done to Sam, the Chef and Team. Keep up the great work as I really appreciate you keeping this dying trade alive.

Lovely setting and nice staff. It was quiet as it was a Monday evening. Food was good although quite pricey. I think the portions were too generous and I couldn't eat a quarter of the pie and my 22 year old 'burger mad' son couldn't eat all of the burger and chips and onion rings, which is not like him. If they cut the portions and therefore the prices then I think it would be better.

Food was fantastic, really enjoyed prawn starter. Nice setting & helpful staff. Loved that we could take our 2 wee dogs.....
