Welcome to Plane & Level Coastal, a culinary gem located in the heart of Fairhope, AL. This is the second establishment of the Plane & Level brand, with its original location in the landmark town of Old Town Spring, Texas. Led by the acclaimed Culinary Director Chef Orlando Amaro and the talented Sommelier/Winemaker Thomas Perez, our restaurant brings a unique coastal dining experience to the Gulf Coast.

P&L never disappoints. This visit, some at our table had the short ribs which were excellent, flavorful and the sauce with asparagus cuts was awesome. I had the Prime Tenderloin with what I think were Fondant Potatoes and a little bit of garlic mashed potatoes. Every dessert was impressive as well.

Outstanding experience. First time to eat there but it will be #1 on the Fairhope list. Staff is not only competent and knowledgable but pleasant to deal with. Innovative menu well executed. Atmosphere recons back to the glamour days of air travel.

Plane & Level Coastal offers such an exceptional dining experience that elevates tapas with local ingredients and curated wines that are a delight to discover. The Fresh Bread Service, is sourdough flown in from a Galician baker, served with rosemary-infused olive oil, sea salt, and garlic — such a perfect start. Vegetable Empanadas with house-made aged chimichurri, and Patatas Bravas with double-fried potatoes, salsa brava, garlic aioli, and serrano ham, are outstanding. Honestly I dream about this unique menu. Nowhere else in the vicinity compares. Pulpo al Grill, features chargrilled Spanish octopus with confit tomatoes and olives, is such a “must have” highlight. Also in love with the salad of Honeycrisp apple, baby arugula, granola, dill, Manchego cheese, with a perfectly balanced and mellow maple cider vinaigrette. Squash is reimagined with whipped ricotta, pecans, truffle honey plus sage as only Chef Orlando Amaro would invent. You can tell he’s worked in Michelin Star restaurants. Just when I thought I was done being impressed, the Red beet salad with orange segments, pistachios, goat cheese mousse completes this next level experience. The service and the foods are perfection, making our visit with dear friends so unforgettable, and us eager to return.

Unique and beautiful decor. We had brunch. The food had exceptional and unique flavor profiles. Nice menu choices as well. Highly recommend for a lovely dining experience.

Our third time eating at this Spanish tapas restaurant. Every visit has been an over the top experience. The food is wonderful and Chef Orlando and his staff were all so attentive. The wine selection is outstanding and reasonable. Can’t wait to go back! Thanks so much!
