In a much anticipated event, we are proud to have chef Johnson Wong coming to Pipis Dining Room from his restaurants Gēn Penang & Communal Table. The Pipis team had the pleasure of visiting Penang earlier in the year to share some Melbourne flair and now it's the Malaysian chef's turn to dial up the spice on the Albert Park foreshore. Wong was the recent recipient of the Michelin Malaysia Young Chef Award 2024, and his restaurants are well represented in that guide as well as in the Top 100 of Asia's Best Restaurants 2021. The nitty gritty: - 4 Course Menu - Dietaries to be noted in reservation. Vegans can not be catered for. - Children can be catered for separately - Strictly 2- hour sitting time. This is one not to be missed.

One of the best restaurants in melbourne . The food is very well done , the restaurant is beautiful and the wine list very good . They constantly change the menu and keep everything very exciting.

Beautiful setting and location. A few more items on the menu would have been ideal and updated on the website. Overall an excellent dining experience.

The salt fish croquettes were nice and the salad and chips were very nice. My husband very much enjoyed his steamed blue eye but the whiting special was overcooked and bland - a real disappointment. We were also advised that it was big and for sharing, but this was not the case by anyone’s standards - not our fish, anyway. On a menu that offers so few choices, you expect everything to be mastered - not least of all the fish at a seafood restaurant. I have had Pipi’s on my list to go to for years after reading several times that it’s the choice go to for a few Melbourne chefs, so I was sorry to feel let down. Also had hoped for better in taking an interstate guest.
