Step back in time as you dine at this elegant alfresco restaurant perched on the picturesque water’s edge within Nelson’s Dockyard.

Delectable dishes emphasize the use of local ingredients, freshly picked or caught that day. Seafood specialties include Tuna Tartare, Catch of the Day and Fresh Grilled Lobster Au Gratin.

On Wednesdays enjoy a special Caribbean menu (with steel band in the high season) and on Saturdays partake in cuisine from around the world (while listening to live music from the Harbour Trio band in the high season).

Whether you want to enjoy a convivial lunch with friends gazing out at the historic harbour or a romantic dinner for two at a candle-lit table by the water’s edge, you will savour the beauty of a bygone era while relishing first-rate food.

The Pillars Restaurant is also available to host private events such as weddings, cocktail parties, birthday and anniversary dinners.

A beautiful restaurant overlooking the picturesque Nelsons dockyard. We had a table right on the water front, and it was beautiful, with a gentle sea breeze keeping us cool in the Antiguan heat. Our waitress was fab, incredibly friendly and enthusiastic and looked after us so well and the food was delicious! Cannot wait to go back!

We visited at 2pm on a Monday and there was a lovely relaxed feel, even as people arrived for lunch on the private jetty. Fantastic setting and friendly and attentive staff - who even sang Happy Birthday to my wife when delivering dessert. We had the lobster salad which again was fantastic. Not overly expensive considering the setting. Hard to find fault!

If you are expecting to eat at Pillars for lunch, be aware you wont be, instead you will be eating at Boom but they wont tell you this in advance! (The end of May is out of season and Pillars is closed for lunch) Not quite the venue we were expecting for a 50th Birthday lunch. Nice enough pool side restaurant that you get taken to by a boat but nothing special especially for the price you pay.

Very indifferent and flawed service, drinks arriving late, starters completely forgotten. Booked a particular table 2 months ahead and the request not fulfilled. Beware the tables near the jetty as the arrival of motor boats is smelly and will block your view. Most of the restaurant has a beautiful locational I have used this restaurant many times. It can be good but right now best avoided.

Had a wonderful special occasion dinner at Pillars Restaurant at Nelson's Dockyard. The prefect table next to the water provided an amazing night view. The whole open air ambience with views of the famous pillars created an elegant and special atmosphere. The service was fantastic and our host was so friendly and attentative. The fish meal I had was perfect with a nice glass of red wine. The surprise cake and sparkle candle made the whole evening a special experience. A wonderful restaurant in Antigua.
