Le chef cuisinier Leah Cohen's vous accueille dans son établissement Pig and Khao (68 Clinton Street) sur le Lower East Side. La cuisine inspirée de l'Asie du Sud-Est offre une variété d'influences thaïlandaises et filipino au menu, y compris les pâtes croustillantes et la salade de mangue marinées (jarret de porc cuit à la sauce de soja et cinq épices garnies de coriandre, d’ail croustillant servie avec une sauce aigre-douce dont la famille a le secret), la salade de porc grillé et de choux Bruxelles (sauce de poisson avec citron, échalote, ail et riz croustillant de chili, échalote, herbes et riz grillé), poitrine de porc grillée (grains de poivre Szechuan, vinaigre de coco, sauce soja, feuilles de laurier, ail croustillant, échalote et oeufs de caille bouillis). The food was tasty per usual. The service was the worst I’ve experienced in NYC. Unattentive and quite lazy waiters. At one point the waiter placed our main dish on the table next to us because our table was full of empty plates.I suppose he didn’t see the value in clearing our table.

Love the Kao Soi, the wings, the fried brussels - really everything we ordered was delicious - as always!! Pig & Khao is a go-to for me. Every time I bring friends here they are always impressed by how good it is, and what good a value! This is a true neighborhood gem!!

Hubs and I shared the family meal, he got the cocktail flight and I got the red wine flight. Food was fantastic, lots of options and can be heavy or lighter depending on the food you get. We did get the duck for our large plate, with a $5 upcharge per person but it was worth it. Only grievance was we already paid and my husband got his last cocktail, so the timing was a little off. But the restaurant was extremely busy. Overall would def go back, food was delicious.

Sitting at the chef's counter was great! So glad that the music was at a lower level than the last two times I was in- made my experience much more enjoyable. Got the chili pan mee and turon- both excellent. Hostess and server were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming back!
