Italian Restaurant& wine bar in Sarasota. Where you are a stranger only once.
His philosophy served him well with his previous Sarasota businesses. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.
A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.
Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.

Our first visit to their new location and upon arrival we were greeted not as customers but as friends! The service, food and ambiance makes Pietro’s our favorite restaurant on our visits to Sarasota.

An outstanding meal. The veal chop parmigiana was certainly the finest tasting and most tender veal I have had in over 50 years of Italian dining. Great atmosphere and extremely pleasant staff.

The food was excellent. The service was great but the server's English could have been somewhat better. That, combined with the noise level made it a challenge to understand the specials.

Pietro's gives the feeling of eating at your friends home. It has a unique welcoming and comfortable feeling. The food is wonderful and the wine selection offers bottles not found anywhere. Overall, this place can't be beat.

Hands down, this is the best restaurant in Sarasota. My husband loves authentic Italian cuisine over any and finds Pietro’s his favorite one (and there are soooo many to choose from in SRQ). Their new location is somehow more charming than the previous. When you arrive you feel as though you’ve just walked in to your dear friend’s family home, it’s a cozy feel good atmosphere. Everyone there is welcoming not to mention busy! The food is incredible. Crisp lettuces, crunchy perfectly ripe tomatoes, the olive oil and balsamic with the bread service is so delicious you could drink it. I’ve had the grouper entree and a lobster special that were both perfect. I absolutely love this spot and highly recommend it.
