Piccolo Buco Roma - set mere steps from Rome's famed Trevi Fountain - is where Cooper's Hawk Founder, Tim McEnery, first discovered Chef Luca Issa and his wonderful pizza. The ingredients were deceptively simple: creamy, indulgent mozzarella mingled with a bright and bold tomato sauce. Absolutely unacceptable! We had 8pm reservations but weren’t seated until well after 8:30pm. The service was painfully slow, and when the food finally arrived, both the pasta dishes and pizza were barely warm, as if they’d been sitting out waiting to be brought to our table. Clearly, management is a disaster because this is our second bad experience here. If it wasn't for the tasty food during our first visit, we would not have returned. I would never go back and certainly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you value your time and want hot food, go somewhere else.

We made a 8pm reservation and showed up on time to end up waiting 30 minutes as well to be seated . It was quite busy and they did mention it would be a wait time but never no 30 minutes. My wife and I decided to wait it out clearly . We were seated and our server was Louis and by far he was the best server I’ve had going there . Although it was very busy he was quick and attentive . Provided excellent service and made the 30 minute wait well worth it . Food was very good as always . All in all will definitely be back just when it’s not so busy .

We had a very nice meal at Piccolo Buco. Our server was very attentive and brought extra plates and serving flatware for us without us having to ask as we were sharing two salads, a pizza, a pasta and two desserts (as well as two bottles of the delicious Super Tuscan wine) between four people. Delicious food, and great well priced wine. Everything was wonderful. My only, slightly negative comment is that the set up of all square tables side by side reminds me less of fine dining and more of a cafeteria set up. That small thing alone will not stop us from going back as this is becoming our favorite spot for Italian food.

Always a great experience. The yellow Margherita pizza and stuffed squash blossoms were delicious. Pastas were very fresh.

This was our second time and came back since the first time was great. Service was good to start and received drinks and appetizers which were good. Ordered main course and that took about an hour to come out with our server stopping by once to apologize. Food was dropped off and never saw server again till toward the end of our meal so we never could order more drinks which everyone wanted so kind of dulled the mood. The food was really good however the pizza was overloaded with evoo. We were sitting right by the kitchen and saw that the person prepping the pizzas for pickup seemed to have a heavy hand. Maybe it was just our preference but we remember the pizza being so much better our first time there.
