One of the best — if not the best, Italian restaurants in NYC. And a special call out for the amazing, graceful and warm hospitality and service. If I could give six stars, I would.

This was our fourth visit to Piccola Cucina Uptown and like the other three it was five stars in every category. The menu is amazing for the number of choices and the chefs are able to present superbly cooked high quality plates no matter what is requested. Excellent service and the amazing manager finish the story. If one wants to avoid waits one need a reservation and for a quieter meal ask for the upstairs dining room and dine early if possible.

From cocktails to dessert everything was perfect. The service was impeccable but friendly and the special fish and gnocchi were indeed special. We enthusiastically recommend Piccola Cucina!

I had booked this place for my wedding anniversary and even with the notes left in my reservation booking, it was never acknowledged once at the restaurant. Even after adding notes to the reservation, we still had to ask twice to be seated at the terrace. Once we finally sat down in the terrace, another customer came and was very excited to share it was her birthday. The staff didn’t acknowledge that either. It would’ve been nice to have a good customer service experience when celebrating our wedding anniversary.

This place has an an energetic vibe that attracts a more upscale clientele than most Third Avenue restaurants. Also, for a restaurant that is not premium priced, the service was amazing: our water glasses were constantly being refilled, the tables were wiped clean of crumbs everytime a drink or plate was delivered to our table or cleared. All four of us thought the food was very good. Prices are maybe 25% higher than moderate Italian restaurants a few blocks east but that was a bargain given the quality of the food, the fun ambience, and the superior service.
