LOUD, VIBRANT, DELICIOUS...Situated on Wheeler Street in the centre of Cambridge, Pho is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant that specialise in pho noodle soup, the national dish of Vietnam. Aside from pho, you can also expect to find amazing starters, healthy salads, hearty rice bowls and decadent curries. They have a range of freshly made juices and also Vietnamese beers and a large wine and cocktail list. Pho’s menu is 40% vegan and nearly entirely gluten-free too. They also have an accessible kids’ menu where children can get a meal and a drink for £6.95.

The food and service were great but I wasn’t keen on the table we were given in a cramped corner next to a food serving “station”. Difficult access in and out with this seating arrangement.

Our waiter was so lovely despite him having to cover a lot of tables. Lighting not that great, could hardly see the menu and the music was so loud, shut down chat I felt. Overall over good and food was quick and tasty. Will be going again.

Overall a positive experience at Pho Cambridge . Good was great and the team were attentive. However I would definitely avoid the tables near the door area. There is no waiting area and they allow people just to wait for an available table if they haven’t booked. At one point I explained to the person literally leaning into my back that it wasn’t the antiques roadshow and to give me some space. Also on a cold evening people were queuing out into the street and there was a cold draft coming through . I will go back but will definitely insist on a table away from the door area - not the dining experience we were looking for on this occasion .

Great food and experience as usual. We are fans of the pork spring roll, beef combo pho and chicken shrimp fried rice. This has been our maybe close to twenty something visit, brought in so many friends in or just weekly comfort food. (We are SE asians so I hope we know good vietnamese :) ) Dante has been fantastic in our last few visits!

The front house person didn’t make us feel welcomed. Just took us to the table, no smile no questions. This is the person welcoming people at the door and she wasn’t engaged at all. The service only went downhill. I wanted to have a meat portion added to the Pho but to be served separately so I could add as I was eating. This was impossible for the staff to ask. They didn’t even asked in the kitchen - it was just a no. We ate the food cold because the starters came at the same time as the main dishes and the person overseeing the young sever said it was my fault. For not asking these to come at different times. In my view the person serving should ask us that and if it didn’t ask the meal should follow the standard which is starters come first and then the meal. The service was very bad, the staff attending us was junior and I get that but the floor supervisor and front door people made it very bad. The food is great but it ruins your experience this kind of attitude from the staff.

Fried noodles were very nice. The only thing spoiling our experience was the loud music blasting through the speakers. Staff apparently is not able to turn it down more.

Average food quality. Was a bit "Meh". Nothing special. Have eaten at Pho before and was exceptional then. Floor was dirty with remnants of food. My wife found rice stuck to her trousers the next day. Must have been on the sofa she sat on. Don't know if this time was a one-off. Had specified on the booking that the meal was to celebrate 4 birthdays, but nothing was mentioned about this by the waitresses, not even a simple "Happy birthday to you all". Yes, some people try it on to get special treatment, but we were giving cards and presents to eachother, although one did confirm the allergies I had mentioned on the booking. I appreciate that they have long days and work several hours on their feet, but it would have been nice if the waitress smiled a bit, she did not once. At no point did anyone come to ask if everything was ok with our food or ask if we needed anything. We had to try desperately hard to get the attention of a server when we wanted water and the drinks menu again. We took our left over food home, which was packed in cardboard containers. Unfortunately it was a soggy mess when we got home which left a mess on the car carpet, which had to be washed and the food itself, had to be thrown away. Overall, not a very good experience.

Excellent food and customer service. My wife is a coeliac and they were able to clearly explain and reassure her it would all be made gf and with no cross contamination straight away. She has had no ill effects afterwards. We had a lovely meal; three of the party had Pho and one the rice bowls, all delicious.

Love the food but I think getting only 4 prawns in the curry is a bit sad! Up it to 6

Lovely fresh food and friendly service, good ambiance. We had to wait quite a while at the door even though had a reservation.
