Pho is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant that specialise in pho noodle soup, the national dish of Vietnam. Aside from pho, you can also expect to find amazing sharing starters, healthy salads, hearty rice bowls and decadent curries. They have a range of freshly made juices and also Vietnamese beers and a large wine and cocktail list. Pho’s menu is 40% vegan and nearly entirely gluten-free too. They also have an accessible kids’ menu where children can get a meal and a drink for £5.50.

Disappointing. We rarely eat out as we are a family of 5. But on a trip to see family and do some sights in Bristol, I decided Pho would be perfect as I'm gluten intolerant and there was no need to worry about it there. There were 8 of us in total. However on entering we found the music so loud we couldn't be heard, it was also cold as we were facing the door which was frequently opened, by people wanting a table and then being turned away. It took an age to get our order taken, (drinks, starters and mains all at the same time) and again it was difficult as the waiter couldn't hear us properly. The food arrived after not too long a wait. Sadly we were disappointed by the noodle soup. 3 of us had prawns but there were only 5 in each, yet those of us who had chicken had ample. It wasn't enough for the price. 2 of my children had the hot and spicy, which wasn't, it was mild and sour. Such a shame as we had high hopes of an enjoyable meal, but with the noise and cold and mediocre food we were glad to leave. The nail in the coffin, was the service charge, £25 on an over £200 bill, which is outrageous enough, but then you have to request the waiter to take it off, (some would find that intimidating) then you get the device back and again its put it back on, and you have to select the small unhighighted text at the bottom to remove it again. This is sneaky and underhand and I'm sure many people get caught out and just end up paying it. This needs to be changed and I think worthy of a report to trading standards.

Our waiter Owen, had a wonderful personality. He seems like a nice person who really enjoys his job.

Booked table for 6pm. Was within 5 minutes asked for drinks, food order. Drink and starters came by about 620. Mains didn’t arrive until about 7pm! We explained we needed to get to a show by 730pm. So although food was good, it was rushed so hard to enjoy. Bill came on a device like a phone and left with us. ‘Optional tip’ was added. There was no option to delete or amend this ‘optional tip’. As we were rushed anyway to make our show after a big delay in getting our food, we paid and left. Overall, was not a good experience and I doubt I’ll return.

We enjoyed our meal at Pho on Saturday early evening. It was a pre dinner meal before going to the Hippodrome. We booked for 5.45pm, arrived on time and were seated by 5.50pm. After a few minutes we were asked for our drinks order which came quite quickly. The two men wanted the 650ml Beer Lao but they didn’t have any! But it wasn’t until around 6.15 that we were asked about our meal order! We ordered our starters and main courses but the waitress returned saying there was no squid or pork and lemongrass meatballs which was very disappointing especially for so early in the evening. We ordered some different starters. The food took a while to arrive but it was all very enjoyable. We asked for the bill which arrived promptly but we were given the wrong bill which was significantly cheaper than what we had ordered. I pointed this out to the waitress who eventually found the right bill on their system. We paid, left very satisfied as far as the food was concerned and made it to the Hippodrome for around 15 minutes before the performance start time of 17.30. Overall we would go again but if some of their staple menu options were not available again we would definitely give Pho a wide berth!

We really enjoyed lunch at Pho. Our waiter was brilliant and great food. Great venue with high ceilings and v light. Will defo return.

Once again our mains turned up just after our starters. We were only half way through our starters. What was worse was that the staff didn't think this was a issue. All they were concerned about was trying to make space on an all ready full table to put the mains. luckerly one of the members of staff who had some common sense sorted it out. Real shame because I look the food but the rushed service is really off putting. Don't know if I will be willing to give another go, happened too many times.

My Sister introduced me to PHO last year for my birthday, as I am gluten intolerant. I was hooked , this is now my favourite place to eat. I’ve been craving summer rolls for a while so booked a table and drove 45min with my daughter, it was here first time and she loved it. Would highly recommended this place 100%
