Philhellene is one of the four Greek restaurants in Melbourne to be included in the 2011 Age Good Food Guide, our primary objective at Philhellene is to present an authentic concept of food and drink while using high quality produce and applying traditional methods derived from our own mothers' cooking, creating a truly memorable and even emotional experience.
The team at Philhellene consists of John & Susie Rerakis, several time 'best greek restaurant' winners by The Age Good Food Guide, also featured in Vogue Entertaining and other prominent media. Along with them their entourage of mothers who are working in the kitchen, spreading love & tales of their country in the dishes that they serve you.
Our primary objective is to present an authentic concept of food and drink while using high quality produce and applying traditional methods derived from our own mothers’ cooking, creating a wonderful experience.

Philhellene offers a distinctive function room that will bring the essence of Greek style to your next event. The room can sit up to 45 guests. The restaurant’s main room can accommodate up to 80 guests and both rooms can be reserved either separately or together for everything from christenings to birthdays to corporate functions.

Beautiful family run business. A nice warmth to the atmosphere , it was a perfect dinner. Traditional food. Fresh and delicious. Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing melt in your mouth meal, paired with delicious wine, with fabulous service from Paul and Anna. Will be back again with friends soon!

We celebrated our 16th Wedding Anniversary yesterday at the restaurant. I must say, that we loved everything! I have been to this restaurant a few times now and I am always leaving impressed and with a full belly. The menu is more exciting than other Greek restaurants that I have been to. They have their own personal touch on traditional Greek food. They knew it was our anniversary and gave us a little goodie bag with a sweet message hand written on the bag and a free desert. We were not expecting this and thought it was absolutely lovely of them. I would highly recommend Philhellene. The staff are lovely, the food is amazing and the ambiance is so cosy. A special thanks to our lovely waiter. You made our night. We will be back, thats for sure!

Great food and ambience at reasonable price. The staff are friendly with good service. Will recommend to friends and come again.

The team of waiters were wonderful with advice on food menu. The food was cooked beautifully and the serving was great. Fantastic restaurant.

The food wasn’t the best, the octopus was tough, they mixed the lamb with the chicken and potatoes and l don’t like lamb so it ruined the flavour of the other food, the baclava, which l love, was soft and soggy, the food was so salty l was drinking lemon water for the remainder of the night. The service is impeccable however unfortunately l was disappointed with the food.
