Spending time researching in France for inspiration, Virant has crafted every dish with meticulous attention to detail and a reverence for tradition.

Seating 65 guests, Petite Vie’s intimate space exudes the warmth and comfort of a traditional French brasserie, while seamlessly blending modern design elements. A collaboration between Virant, his wife Jennifer and long-time friend and designer Jody Tate, every detail at Petite Vie tells a story of meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful curation.

Featuring French intricacy and layering, the space is a canvas of artistic expression, with artwork curated from both local talents and treasures acquired during the team's time in Paris. Framed prints, commissioned paintings, and a round antique mirror passed down through generations, adorn the walls, adding layers of intrigue.

Every time we dine at Petite Vie we have an amazing experience. Last night was no exception. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant and wish that we had something similar in Naperville! This is our go-to restaurant whenever we have the time to travel a little further for dinner.

We went for Brunch - everything was wonderful, esp. the quiche and the trout tartine.

Top notch experience from start to finish! I had the beef bourginon and it was AMAZING. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was just right. Highly recommend!

Outstanding! We enjoyed a drink and appetizer at the bar before our dinner reservation. The bar staff was friendly and helpful and the pastry cheese puffs were melt in your mouth delicious. Dinner was delicious and our server was delightful. Vibrant scene in a great location.

This is a gem in Western Springs. The bartenders and servers are friendly and knowledgeable.

Wonderful French fare in beautiful surroundings with impeccable service. It can become a bit loud in the bar area, but I can’t wait for our next visit!

Food and service were outstanding. We sat at the counter and watched the preparation of many dishes. Kitchen is very well run and chef is very hands on. Kitchen staff interacted with us and answered any questions we had. Great meal and great experience!!

The gnocchi appetizer was amazing. Light little pillows of heaven with a generous amount of mushrooms, bacon and squash that glazed the gnocchi perfectly. We both had the cod en papillot which was perfectly cooked but a little heavy on the salt. Fantastic flavor and texture. We had the buche du noel which was a little disappointing (very heavy; lacking the cream element and didn’t taste fresh). The server was attentive and cordial. The gentleman delivering the cod could have been a little neater. We get that it is a challenging plate to present to remove the paper, but the table and floor were splattered during the process. The table we got was against the wall and seemed a little cramped next to the servers station. Will definitely try the counter next time.

The food was amazing! We had a seat at the bar and ordered some great drinks. After that we got the scallops for an appetizer and some entrees with a side. All were so good. We ended with three desserts which was the right choice because they all were so unique and delicious. Staff were very helpful and attentive throughout the meal. Cannot wait to go back.
