Petit Trois Le Valley, the second outpost of Chef Ludo Lefebvre's beloved bistro, opened its doors in 2018 in Sherman Oaks. This larger location channels a lavish French Brasserie, with its marble bar, banquette lined dining room, and a Chef’s counter overlooking the open kitchen. The second dining room can be reserved for larger parties and private events.

Since opening, Petit Trois has garnered praise from casual foodies and revered food critics. In 2015, Petit Trois was nominated for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation and in 2019 earned the Bib Gourmand designation upon the Michelin Guide’s return to Los Angeles. Additionally, Petit Trois was featured on the late Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants in Los Angeles list from 2015-2017 and has remained on the list since 2019 when Bill Addison & Patricia Escárcega took over.

Petit Trois is always solid for ambience and service . The lunch menu added a new chopped salad that was more a taste of Italy than France . Mine was severely over salted and the staff immediately responded with offering another choice or a redo on the salad . I opted for the chef to prepare a fresh one and it was delivered promptly. They appreciated my feedback as it was a new item. The service was attentive but not intrusive. I always order the baguette and buerre. The baguette was crispy ( just shy of a bit too crispy) and I would prefer the French butter to be more chilled and firm and on a plate . (At $10 it’s a treat) Our lunch was leisurely and we appreciated not being rushed. I did miss the smoked salmon tartine not being available at lunch. The beet salad is also a fav.

My first time at this French restaurant that my adult children love. Authentic. Simple ingredients transformed into an elegant entree. I thought I knew how to make the perfect French omelette… I stand corrected. A perfect slice of bacon so flavorful, rich and decadent I took half home for my son in law. Beinet with cream. Impossible to create a home. I’ll be back.

Things have changed. Food quality was bad. The glazed bacon was so dry and rock hard (very different from before). The almond croissant shrunk and texture is weird.

We came in confused having reviewed the All Day Menu menu ahead of time. We missed the fact that the All Day Menu and Prix Fixe option are not offered for Saturday lunch. The menu was exciting, offering a daube, what looked like a delicious beet salad, a branzino, and many other appealing offerings. This was the sole reason we selected this restaurant. We were disappointed in the very limited menu. We also missed the fact that the restaurant opened at 8am on Saturday, not noon as we had thought. I will go back to the website and see how we missed these important details. That said, our experience was overall ok. The hostess was very welcoming and accommodating when we commented how cold the restaurant was and offered to turn down the A/C. This was a nice touch vs offering to move us to another table. The Croque Madame was an excellent choice and did not disappoint. I meant to ask what bread was used, it was a dark artisan bread that was delicious. The accompanying salad of butter lettuce was dressed with a wonderful very French vinaigrette. The latte was so rich, my sister thought there was chocolate in it. We will return during the week to give this place another try. BTW, it is very noisy.

Lovely server, attentive and not overly so. delicious food. Comfortable for a leisurely lunch catching up with a friend. Would like to return for dinner. Expensive valet patking.
