Part neighborhood café, part energetic bistro, Petite Cerise is located in a bright and lively historic corner space in Shaw/Mount Vernon Triangle. Petite Cerise features separate à la carte menus for brunch and lunch. In addition, Petite Cerise has a Coffee Counter open Tuesday - Friday opening at 8am serving classic coffee and espresso preparations, housemade pastries, and other breakfast items to go or sit down.

Dinner features a four course prix fixe menu for $58 dinner. The focus in the evening is to craft unique and innovative dishes utilizing the very best ingredients within the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. The goal with this menu is to further explore the diversity of French cuisine and the creativity that is granted from its rich history.

There will be fresh oysters, Jamon Beurre footlongs, croque en bouche and more! We will also be popping can't miss French magnums from our cellar to be purchased by-the-glass along with additional a la carte French fare to elevate your evening. We will be celebrating from 4pm to 10pm, with tickets available for $75 at 2-and-a-half-hour time windows. I am an auntie to 3 and they LOVE crepes so I decided to bring them to one of my fav places. Of course they like crepes of a different kind and each kid wanted something different or taken off. James and the entire team met our littles needs and provided us with caffeine to make it through the day. Thank you guys for impeccable service and delicious food and drinks.

The pre fixe dinner menu here is the best iteration of this restaurant thus far, and a must dine destination in DC. You might start with impossibly crisp and custardy panisses with an addictive tarragon yogurt, then a North African inflected escargots dish cooked to perfection, not hammered and drowning in garlic butter, charred octopus with warm Provençal flavors, and finish with a show stopper Chesapeake striped bass in croute. This interplay of regional French cooking (including from their immigrant communities), contemporary/seasonal dishes, with more classical throwback dishes with finely executed technical sauces is extraordinary. The Super thoughtful selection of elegant bistro wines by the bottle as well, none of the plonk they sell you at most French restaurants around the city.

Petite Cerise without any notice or warning changed what was a wonderful French bistro menu, the best in town in my opinion, to a fixed price dinner menu with very few choices. The food was well prepared but the move to a fixed price menu with only two entree choices was hugely disappointing. So many wonderful choices on the prior dinner menu, and they are all gone. We took friends who had never been but had looked at the menu on the website only a day or two before. They were disappointed as well. I hope the restaurant management rethinks this new format. If it does not we won’t be returning.

Great French-themed dishes with a modern sensitivity. We always love this place (as well as its parent restaurant, The Dabney).

I had such a wonderful dinner! I was on my own in town for a business meeting, but had nothing scheduled for the day I arrived Saturday). Petite Cerise was recommended to me. Took a chance and snagged an early (6 pm) reservation. I had the Boeuf Bourguignon. Oh my God! Succulent and flavorful and such a heavenly light sauce. I had the crème brûlée for dessert. Simple and smooth and the perfect end. To be truthful, I could have shared both dishes - a note to small appetites . But a lovely dinner, calm atmosphere and staff that were so kind and attentive. Do yourself a favor. Go next time you are in DC!

Everyone enjoyed their brunch meals and lattes. The decor was immaculate and service attentive but not intrusive. Slight knock for charging for baguette and the pastries seemed expensive but then they gave us free croissants before we left, which were delicious. Would go again.

Food was delicious. The beignets popped with the foie gras parfait (raspberry preserves and pink peppercorns added a delicate touch), and the soft shell crab tartine was absolutely delicious. Mason was a great and easy going server, and Victor (at the bar) was a hero!

I have visited the restaurant several times and the experience is a little uneven. The food is uniformly good but maybe a little more visually appealing than it is profoundly delicious. The service is attentive, but just sort of odd in its vibe. There’s just a little something missing that would take it from a place that I like to a place that I love Little things like in a semi-empty restaurant being sat at the worst table for a reservation that was made weeks ago. I’m not one to be fussy about things like that, but it just shows a lack of care. The music is just too loud to hold a conversation on a two-top. There are places where the restaurant really strives for excellence but one doesn’t get a feeling of excellence across the entire experience. It’s great in someways. Good others and just enough to keep me coming back overall.
