In 2024, the original location of Petit Trois, on Highland Ave in Hollywood, celebrates 10 years as a beloved, can't miss part of LA's dining scene. Chef/Owner Ludo Lefebvre puts his spin on classic French flavors including the cult-favorite Big Mec burger, swimming in rich Bordelaise sauce, perfectly roasted Heritage chicken with compressed potatoes fried in clarified butter, a French Dip sandwich served with a version of the restaurant's onion soup for dipping, and lots more. Start with the restaurant's housemade baguette served with the creamiest French butter and pair it all with wine from the restaurant's thoughtfully curated list, which includes 16 by the glass options. With a design inspired by classic Parisian bistros, Petit Trois transports guests in its 2 dining areas as well as an outdoor patio. The dining room is also available for private events.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Le célèbre chef Ludo Lefebvre continue de proposer certains des meilleurs plats français de la ville dans son bistrot primé de la taille d'un timbre-poste, inauguré en 2014 à Hollywood. Installez-vous côte à côte au chaleureux bar en marbre pour déguster les plats simples mais magistralement préparés de Lefebvre, comme le steak tartare, les escargots nappés de beurre et la fameuse omelette si parfaite qu'elle fait rougir de honte la plupart des autres établissements.

The seating options of outdoor parking lot or inside countertop was surprising. A properly spaced dining area to match ambiance of French cuisine is necessary. Unfortunately, kitchen was busy but service was too slow. Effort from staff was there, and our waitress was trying. I think she could sense our displeasure. One should know that coumtertop seating is within reach of cook area and ovens, so it can get warm if one is dressed in layers. Countertop also permits one to watch kitchen staff in action, which is interesting. But overhearing Chef curse F words towards staff raised our tension, demonstrated low standards, was unneccesary. Food was good but we won't go back.

The meal was fantastic and the wait staff were superb. We ordered steak au poivre and it was the best I’ve ever had, even better than Paris. We can’t wait to come back. It’s our new favorite restaurant.

Food scrumptious Dover Sole expertly prepared to perfection, only to be topped by Dillon who provided superb service.

Second visit was a disappointment. Slow service. Steak cooked incorrectly: asked for well-done, got bloody meat. By the time it arrived, was too hungry to send it back. Small portion. Great fries.

My daughter wanted to have her 15th birthday dinner here with the family because she really likes the escargot. No other restaurant's escargot compares. She also wanted the baguette and fries. Everything was absolutely perfect from the service to the food. We have been coming here for a long time and drive from OC to Hollywood for it when we can carve out the time because it is that good. We've had almost everything on the menu and this time my husband got the pork fennel sausage and it was really delicious--the sausage was cooked just right and the sauce was light but very flavorful. We shared the crab cake supreme and it was so good. It had plenty of crab, unlike some places where there is a lot of filler and hardly any crab. The nuoc mam (fish sauce) vinaigrette it came in was also really tasty. I got the moules marinieres and it just as good as all the other times I've had it. The fries were extra good this time though. They tasted like McDonald's fries, but better, perfectly crisp and no soggy ones--amazing. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about dinner last night, ha! They used to add on an extra 18% surcharge, but we didn't see it this time. I always tip 20% and I prefer the bill to come without a service charge (unless of course I came with a large group) because it takes the extra burden of me adding a few extra onto a 18% surcharge away. There were a couple other changes to the menu that will for sure bring us back soon so we can try some of the other things off the lunch menu.

Great service, sat us at our reservation time. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, asked about food allergies, remembered them. The only gripe is the bar seating was a bit intimate, so me and my wife were trying to fit ourselves comfortably on the stools without leaning into our neighbors, which was a challenge. Nonetheless, the food was perfect. We had one appetizer, two salads, two entrees, one specialty drink. Appetizer: Chicken liver Mousse on Toast. Wonderful Flavor and texture, both surprisingly lite. Heirloom Tomato Salad and Endive salad. The endive was the star, here. Everything about it was delicious and balanced and bright. Going back for lunch just for fries and the endive salad. Big Mec: I thought it would be too saucy and wet, but it wasn’t at all. The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce wasn’t too much. The butter fried pomme frites were delectable. Steak frites: perfectly prepared med rare steak, salted and buttered. A wonderful Melt-in-your-mouth meat experience. Drink was a rose ginger contraption that was beautifully crafted, non-alcoholic, and refreshing. We will be back to try some other dishes soon. Bravo.

The best steak frites in LA, very European dining experience. Great place if you want to pass a leisurely dinner chatting and catching up with friends as they will never rush you and parse out courses with downtime. My favorite!

No ambience inside, felt like we were in the back of the kitchen. Server disappeared for almost 45 minutes before we had ordered. Food was good.
