Welcome to Pescaito Restaurant & Bar, a unique beachfront space in the tourist area of Las Croabas in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

At Pescaito we specialize in fresh seafood with local catch such as fish, live lobster and conch, etc. as well as prime cuts of meat such as Tomahawk Steak, Lamb Ribs, Ribeye Steak among others.

The food was okay. Service was good. Nothing special about the ambiance of the place. Basic square tables with hard plastic chairs that were uncomfortable. The most troubling issue was a panhandler within 3 feet of the front door who hit up 2 or 3 customers for a handout. No one from the restaurant staff intervened to get him to leave. We delayed our departure hoping he would leave and he must have got enough money from the ones he hit up and eventually left.

Meh. The Grouper did not taste fresh, the plantain mash had little flavor and the selection of beers was incredibly limited. And the Fried Cheese appetizer was terrible. My children enjoyed their Chicken Tenders and Burger, but overall not worth the price. Our waitress was very nice.

It was close to our hotel and had mixed reviews on line and from locals, so why not. We were disappointed, it just wasn’t a great meal, we are a family of 5. The ambiance is a bit sterile but outside dining was fine. Our waiter was friendly and there is lots to choose from. I would say steak is the way to go. We ordered a conch ceviche and it was terrible - we didn’t eat it. I was disappointed that the waiter didn’t offer to replace with something else, he just shrugged it off. My mojito, came in a generous glass but it tasted like lemonade. The steak mofongo was pretty good, the sriracha skirt steak and rice were also tasty. We had the grouper in a creole sauce and that was ok. My daughter had shrimp fettuccine and that had a generous amount of shrimp and was tasty but so much sauce. Overall, it was just ok and maybe just ok b/c it was a Monday. But when I go out to eat, I want to enjoy my meal and feel I’m getting my money’s worth. Sorry.

The ceviche was very good and the grouper nuggets also. The main meal fish looked the part but was just warm and lacked flavor, that went for both fish we had at the table. The ambiance was a little off as it is nice enough inside but the lights are extremely bright which doesn't exactly set a mood, We eat at many similarly priced restaurants or higher and this one just felt like they were missing some fine details. Food needs to be hot and flavorful and the ambiance just doesn't fit a restaurant at all.

We had reservations and were seated promptly. No one came to our table for 30 minutes, not even to bring water or to take our order. We went back to the host stand twice during that 30 minutes to let them know, and still no one came. Another patron was complaining that they had waited for 2 hrs and still had no food, so we left. For people around us that did have food, the food looked great. The restaurant should only seat as many patrons as they can serve well.
