Wonderful high end Korean bbq experience. We were visiting from California, and often go out for Korean bbq in the LA and SF Bay Area locations. As Korean Americans, we know good K-food. This is not an AYCE or smoky K-bbq spot. As we were staying the week in Chicago, we were looking for our Korean food fix and wanted quality Korean food, comparing to other choice Chicago spots, and this was a welcome and refreshing place of rest for our family. Sure you pay a small fee for banchan here, but the service and quality of the food as well as tenderness of the meat was top notch. The decor for Perilla is very comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed our whiskeys over cubed ice in sleek art deco style glasses. It’s really a wonderful experience, and was well worth it to have someone grill the meat for us (and not have my husband burn the meat :). An added bonus was not coming out smelling like a bbq, as we headed to our 9pm reservation to the 360 observation deck. The modern tables with built in grills and ventilation fans were able to absorb all the smoke. All in all, we enjoyed the service and experience at Perilla.
