My first visit to Perch on the Pier for my Wife’s birthday lunch, very impressed with the decor and service , clearly a place where people return again and again . Having patronised ‘The Perch’ at Lancing on several occasions I had high expectations for the food and I was not disappointed. Our party included a vegan, two vegetarians, a pescatarian and myself (a dedicated carnivore) and I was impressed by the range of choices for all of us on what is a relatively compact menu. For me though the highlight of the meal was dessert, normally I would have automatically chosen the cheese cake, but they were sold out so I opted for the mini doughnuts with black coconut ice cream, it was a perfectly delightful and tasty end to my meal and I will definitely be back for more!

I got served a earl grey tea with a dirty cup sent it back waited 45 minutes for breakfast was okay but a bit long plus young children running round the balcony we no one saying a accident could happen and not a play area ?

disappointing, the tofish was made to look like fish, I only wanted battered tofu , and this meant it had no flavour , chips and mushy peas excellent. my grandaughter chose fish and chips as there was no option for plain simple chicken, but this was a success thankfully. I asked for olives/sun dried tomatoes for starter, unfortunately there were only olives, what happened to the tomatoes? loved the olives. Sadly there was no vegan option for sweet so went home to have sorbet on my own. Did enjoy my walk on the pier, beautiful evening. Thankyou for the smiling helpful waitress. Will visit again when you next change your menu!

Absoultely love coming to the perch and this time again didnt disappoint. Thank you again and keep up the 5 star service and food. Amazing!

My experience was very good but the change of menu to HOT spicy food was not my choice! Bring back the old menu or use both.

Pasta was not al dente but hard. It did not have much fish in it either but the sauce was good and the salad good. The prawns were good but a finger bowl would have hrlped. I had baked Alaska for pudding. Now if you are serving ice cream (which was too frozen) with cold pre-prepared meringue that's fine but say so. Baked Alaska is hot on the outside and cold within. I doubt this had ever seen an oven since the meringue was pre-baked well before yesterday. Pleasd don't call it what it was not. My wine was white and should have been chilled but it was room temperature. The cost was lower than I expected but the food was not up to standard. Other than that the service was excellent.

I usually love coming for lunch at the Perch on the Pier but I had a birthday dinner which was really disappointing. The menu was expensive and really not good food. the squid was chewy and overcooked the burrata had little to no sauce or seasoning and bland, the prawns we couldn't eat as were slimy and like they were horrible frozen ones. I pointed out the prawns but instead of offering me it off the bill etc I was told it had been told to the chef?! The lobster ravioli my friend had was swimming in water and not a lovely thick rich sauce. Very disappointed. Although the service was good I won't return for dinner.
