We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

The food is always good I’ve tried many things off the main menu and the specials board which is always changing so plenty of variety plus the staff are lovely nothings ever too much trouble

Booked a table yesterday. I have never been to the Pen Mill Hotel before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was relatively busy which shows that it's a great place for a carvery. No need to be worried, a great place, friendly staff and excellent food. I will be definitely booking a carvery here again.... Full marks all round.

5th visit. Not had anything to mark it down on. The bbq wings are amazing. Anything off of the specials board is well worth having before they sell out. Will be back soon.

The breakfast is fantastic, but the real gem is the black pudding, easily the best in the county. Even people who don’t normally like it enjoy it in many cases. Staff are always friendly and polite, the Pen Mill is a lovely presented pub, service is good and my eggs are always perfectly cooked!

Very easy to book a table. Highly recommend to avoid disappointment as it does get very busy. Even on a week day! Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was just delicious and worth every penny!

This is the first visit to Pen Mill for me. The experience was first class from start to finish. Despite being a cold, wet and windy evening the welcome fom a group of young enthusiastic staff was very warm. The meat on the carvery was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were tasty and hot. Unusually for me I had pudding upon the recommendation of the waitress which was delicious. I cannot recommend highly enough and I will definitely return.
