We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

                                                                                              Went here with family who had recommended it and I wasn’t disappointed. We had the mid week carvery which was well cooked and delicious with a great range of vegetables and sauces. My niece had a burger with added avocado which was polished off! Puddings were also outstanding. I’d never had a sticky toffee roulade before but I’d certainly order it again. Very warm and attentive service too. I highly recommend going.

                                                                                              We eat here regularly. The “pensioners special” is particularly good, a main course, dessert and tea/coffee for £16.50. We’ve eaten many meals here and the food has always been excellent. I have just one small grievance which has stopped me giving 5* for everything. When serving tea they bring you a pot of hot water and a separate tea bag. That is NOT how tea should be made. The teabag should go into the teapot then freshly boiling water added. This may seem trivial but it makes a big difference to how good the tea is. I should know, I’ve been drinking tea for over 60 years.
