We celebrated our 47th Anniversary at Peggy’s The service in the bar and restaurant was the best. The food was excellent! We will definitely go back!

I went to brunch today to have the soft-shelled crab eggs Benedict (yes, to die for) but it was no longer on the brunch menu. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict instead....AMAZING. I do believe that was the best crab cake I have ever had. I will go back another time to get the soft shelled crab on the dinner menu.

Wonderful dinner at Peggy’s on the Green last evening. Loved having drinks at the bar beforehand. It is a beautiful setting. Our dinner was excellent. My wife said that her grilled salmon was outstanding. The steaks that my son and I had were well cooked and very tasty. The service was friendly. Our waiter was excellent.

It’s been a while since my wife and I have eaten at Peggy‘s on the Green. We were a little disappointed with our meal this evening. I had the blackened red fish which had no flavor at all, which surprised me because of how good the waiter said it was. We decided to try out pumpkin pie for dessert and it tasted like something from a food service. The noise level in the restaurant was very loud so it was difficult to talk to one another. Even my wife commented how the quality had seem to have gone down since the last time we had visited. Such a shame, I know they can do better. Unfortunately, we probably won’t come back. blackened of how good the waiter said it was

The special salad of the day at $18 was awful. We let the waiter know that he oversold it and was not offered any comp.

Peggy's on the Green is a wonderful restaurant. The location is in an inn/hotel and it looks over a beautiful backyard of trees and greenery. A wedding party was outside so there quite a few people milling about there. The ambiance inside is very nice and much bigger than originally thought from the outside. The service was excellent - our server was very helpful and very attentive. Now for the food, I realize that this restaurant is first and foremost a steak house. However, we wanted to try the other items on their menu. My wife ordered the chicken, and I ordered their special - redfish. It came with crabmeat, asparagus and rice. My meal was delicious, and the fish was perfectly cooked. However, my wife's dinner selection was too salty. She did not finish her meal which is a shame because their menu items are not reasonably priced. Our bill came out to almost $150.00 including a generous tip to our wait staff. Is dining out this costly these days? We live in Houston part-time so the food bill was not very surprising at all. What was surprising was the quality of food for that price point. A $60 meal in Houston is pretty tasty and delicious. Peggy's on the Green disappoints in that for that amount of money, better quality control should have been exercised. Overall, the presentation was much better than the product on the table. We came for the food, not the ambiance.

We love Peggy’s! The ambiance is so nice…I’m not sure how to describe it - rustic class? It just feels comfortable. Tonight it was a little noisy, mainly because of some people near us that were loud. Our server was Hayes and he and his team took excellent care of us. I started with Marie’s Country Olive Salad (which is my favorite thing on the menu)) and my husband had the house salad. It was the same price as mine yet quite a bit smaller and with less variety of ingredients. It’s just a basic salad so it should be less expensive, IMO. Sweet tea brined chicken breast was my choice. It was good and cooked perfectly (not dry like often happens with chicken breasts) but it and the sauce that was in a little pitcher on the side were a little salty for my taste. The broccolini and potatoes on the side were delicious, though. Husband had the 12 oz New York Strip and a baked potato as a side dish. He said it was one of the best steaks he’s had. We also ordered the green beans to share. They are served crisp which is not to everyone’s taste. The brownie and ice cream was our shared dessert. It tasted good, but was a little on the dry side. It left me wishing we had gone with a piece of buttermilk pie instead. It wasn’t a cheap meal, but it was our anniversary so we splurged a little and felt that, overall, it was worth it.

Food was wonderful as always. Edie was fantastic. We enjoyed taking our out of town guests to Peggy’s and they loved it.

Great ambience and Jules gave us great service. I had the grilled salmon and my wife had the crab cakes - both were excellent and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be going back !
