Beyra Superior Red24,99 £GB
The grapes that created this wine fermented together. My goal was to harvest the various grape varieties from different vineyards when I believed the timing was right to produce a wine for ageing. Great concentration and very fresh, the blend produced a remarkable complex aroma where the notes of oak mingle harmoniously and add complexity to the spices, blackberry, liquorice and violets, in a blend that promises to get better in the bottle year after year. Complex, very concentrated aroma. Robust and structured on the palate with a thick texture evoking grapes grown under stress. Decant before serving. Enjoy with strong meat dishes, game or your favourite strong cheeses. 12 months in 1/3 French and 2/3 American new oak barrels. / Field blend of a selection of native grapes from several vineyards, of grape varieties Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Jaen (Mencia), Touriga Nacional and a small percentage of old vines with Rufete. / Schist soils

Grapes: Alvarinho (35%), Verdelho (30%), Rabigato (30%), Viognier (5%). Origin: Quinta da Pedra Escrita estate is located in Freixo de Numão - Douro Superior, with an average altitude of 575 meters. Vinification: Hand-picked grapes to small perforated boxes of 15 Kg, cold fermentation technology on reductive environment, with controlled temperature at about 16 ºC, very gentle crushing and pressing in an inert atmosphere to preserve all the aromatic potential of grapes. This wine fermented in used French oak and remains there after a short racking on fine lees with regular stirring "battonage" until the making of the final blend in the end of Spring time. Ageing: Fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels for 6 months with "batonnage" until bottling, followed by a period of maturation in bottle for at least 4 months

Quinta Do Coa Organic18,99 £GB
Single Estate Organic Wine. / 8 months in new and used French oak barrels. / Grapes from old vines of the following varieties: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz e Touriga Franca. / Schist soils of the Douro Superior. Grapes: Touriga Nacional (60%), Tinta Roriz/Temperanillo (30%), Touriga Franca (10%). Origin: Selected organic grown grapes of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional in the schist soils of Quinta do Côa estate, in the heart of the Douro Superior. We looked for the best of each grape variety, like the spicy notes and firm tannins of Tinta Roriz, the notes of rockrose and smooth tannins of Touriga Franca and the complex aromas of black fruits and berries balanced by very fresh floral notes of the Touriga Nacional of the Douro Superior. Vinification: Hand-picked grapes to small perforated boxes. Reception with full destemming, followed by crushing and cooling. Fermentation in stainless steel vats with temperature crontrol, with maceration at around 26ºC. Smooth and prolonged maceration and part of the malolactic fermentation was made in seasoned oak barrels. Ageing: 8 months in new and used French oak barrels
Quinta Da Pedra Escrita20,99 £GB
6 months in French oak barrels, fermented and aged with fine lees stirred "batonnage" . / Single estate grapes of Alvarinho, Verdelho, Rabigato and Viognier varieties. / Very sandy granite soil in the Douro Superior, at an average altitude of 575 metres above sea level. Grapes: Alvarinho (35%), Verdelho (30%), Rabigato (30%), Viognier (5%). Origin: Quinta da Pedra Escrita estate is located in Freixo de Numão - Douro Superior, with an average altitude of 575 meters. The windy and dry soils of the Estate are predominantly of granite, sandy and very poor in nutrients. Here I grew my first vineyards, always believing that the granite soils give us wines with highly complex aromas and great longevity, like in the old times. Vinification: Hand-picked grapes to small perforated boxes of 15 Kg, cold fermentation technology on reductive environment, with controlled temperature at about 16 ºC, very gentle crushing and pressing in an inert atmosphere to preserve all the aromatic potential of grapes. We made a great effort that all the pre-fermentation operations are carried out within the greater accuracy because it's responsible for the intrinsic quality of future wine.

Vinification: Hand-picked grapes, reception with full destemming, followed by crushing and cooling. Fermentation between 22 – 26 oC during 7 days with smooth maceration. Quinta Da Pedra Escrita Reserva32,99 £GB
Fermentation and ageing with fine lees stirred "batonnage" in 500 Lts French oak barrels / Single estate grapes of Verdelho, Rabigato, Alvarinho and Viognier. / Very sandy granite soil in the Douro Superior, at an average altitude of 575 metres. Grapes: Verdelho (30%), Rabigato (30%), Alvarinho (20%), Viognier (20%). Origin: Quinta da Pedra Escrita estate is located in Freixo de Numão - Douro Superior, with an average altitude of 575 meters. The windy and dry soils of the Estate are mainly of granite, sandy and very poor in nutrients. Here I grew my first vineyard, always believing that the granite soils give us wines with highly complex aromas and great longevity, like in the old times, with very concentrated grapes due the low yields. This is a tradition that we want to bring back to a world of increasingly stereotyped wines, and that emphasizes the unique character of the Douro's white wines. Vinification: Hand-picked grapes to small perforated boxes of 15 kg. The grapes are pressed without crushing and without destemming under an inert atmosphere in order to preserve all the aromatic potential of the grapes. A great effort is made to ensure that all prefermentation operations are carried out to the strictest possible extent and are therefore responsible for the intrinsic quality of the future wine preserving its primary aromas. Ageing: Fermentation and ageing stirring the fine lees "batonnage" in French oak barrels of 500 Lts until bottling in June

Sparkling Wine
d'Alba Special Cuvee23,71 £GB
Selection of native grapes: Códega do Larinho, Malvasia Fina, Touriga Franca, Viosinho and Rabigato. / Transition soils schistgranite. / First fermentation with partial ageing in French oak barrels. / Classic Method. Grapes: Códega do Larinho, Malvasia Fina, Viosinho, Touriga Franca, Rabigato. The grapes are crushed directly to the pneumatic press with cold technology on reductive environment, with controlled temperature at about 16ºC, using very smooth processes under inert atmosphere to preserve all aromatic potential of the grapes. Excellent service from the very beginning. We had booked a table, but when we arrived, we were given the choice to sit further into the restaurant away from the door. Pedro was very helpful with choosing wines, providing an at table tasting service. The food was all delicious, as were the drinks. All of the waiting staff were very attentive and helpful. There was a good, lively atmosphere without being too noisy, and our table were all able to easily converse with one another. A really wonderful afternoon!Cet avis est-il utile ?
