Benvenuto and welcome to Pazzo, a new Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Halifax. Inspired by our love affair with Italian cuisine, we’ve beautifully transformed two floors of a Barrington Street heritage building into a cozy bar on the lower level and a gorgeous dining area upstairs. With a focus on fresh handmade pasta, meats and cheeses cured in-house, and wines that flow as freely as laughter around a family dinner table, we invite you to join us on a journey of Italy’s rich food culture and la dolce vita!

Our upper level dining room is available for exclusive large group bookings ranging from 40 - 110 people. It is equipped with it's own bar and bathrooms are located on this level. An elevator is available to assist those with mobility issues. Music on this floor can be customized to your preferred playlist. Live performance is also available.

I don't eat any type of seafood, so I was eating a lot of chicken in the Maritimes and was ready for something different. Pazzo Ristorante & Enoteca turned out to be a great choice. My Orecchiette with Italian Sausage and Red Peppers was delicious, as was the focaccia with three spreads, including a tapenade. My birthday wasn't until the next day, but I was still gifted with dessert and a lovely personalized birthday card. Wonderful service from everyone.

This new downtown Halifax Italian restaurant is superb in every aspect. It has been the best dining experience we have had in years. The ambiance was perfect, all dishes were prepared authentically with unique presentation, and the service was tops. We were not disappointed, and you won't be either. A new restaurant of this caliber was long overdue. A delightful evening.

Very attentive staff, seating and ambience very comfortable. Delicious drinks, extensive wine list, fabulous lasagna and juicy steak done exactly as ordered. Will be back!

Nice restaurant, hardly anyone there so quiet enough to hear conversation which was a nice change. Food was good but not fabulous.

We enjoy Pazzo and the service (Maria) was exceptionable. However, the level of noise coming from the piped in service was deplorable. This computer-generated synthesized elevator music is not in keeping with this restaurant. Perhaps some Italian background music that has seen a musical instrument and please turn down the volume.......look at the age of the diners. We can't hear each other talk.

The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was good. Really enjoyed the style. The food was not fantastic and definitely not worth the price.

Just wanted to say thank you for helping us celebrate two birthdays and an anniversary. Scottie, Dillon, Carlo and the rest of the staff provided some of the best service we have experienced. The food was what we expected, amazing! Atmosphere is wonderful. We will be back again.

Randomly chose this restaurant while visiting Halifax based on the overall ratings. Sometimes the waterfront restaurants get packed with tourists so we went in a few blocks to seek an alternative. Glad we did! Really nice ambiance and the downstairs open kitchen area is a clever popular concept. Wait staff was incredible and helpful with suggestions. Calamari appy was one of the best I’ve ever had and perfectly cooked. Will definitely return next time I’m in Halifax 🇨🇦❤️
