Benvenuto and welcome to Pazzo, a new Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Halifax. Inspired by our love affair with Italian cuisine, we’ve beautifully transformed two floors of a Barrington Street heritage building into a cozy bar on the lower level and a gorgeous dining area upstairs. With a focus on fresh handmade pasta, meats and cheeses cured in-house, and wines that flow as freely as laughter around a family dinner table, we invite you to join us on a journey of Italy’s rich food culture and la dolce vita!

    Join Giorgio Pasanisi from Umani Ronchi, Italian Winery of the Year 2024 for an evening of exquisite wines paired perfectly with a delectable 4 course menu specially curated by Chef Dwayne MacLeod. Umani Ronchi is a wine estate owned by the Bianchi-Bernetti family, who since 1959 have been making superb-quality craft wines, coaxing the best out of the Verdicchio and Montepulciano that find their finest expression in Marche and Abruzzo.

    Office function celebrating a staff members 30 plus years!! Great service and excellent staff. Food was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!! Hats off to Carlo and his staff!!

    The food was amazing, the service excellent! Our host was fantastic and very accommodating for dairy allergy. We went for the first Thursday of the month so we were treated to live Jazz starting at 7PM. BEAUTIFUL and we LOVED it! Thank you!!!

    Service is the best in the city - food is always delicious and we had a table side pasta as a treat. Highly recommend

    We had an amazing dining experience at Pazzo! Our server, Scotty, was the best! He was so friendly and personable and had such great positive energy! He made our experience one of the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We will definitely be asking for him the next to we go to Pazzo. The rest of the staff was amazing too - I believe it was Carlo who brought over a little stand for the ladies to hang our purses on - we loved that! The ambiance was great - beautiful decor and just enough hustle and bustle and chatter from other tables to feel energized but not so loud that you can’t converse with your own table. THE FOOD! The food was absolutely delicious! All four of us loved every bite; from the yummy focaccia bread, the best caesar salad ever and the tartare and calamari as appies to the pastas and steak. And the frites….oh my goodness…I am craving them right now! SO good! We will definitely be back sooner than later. I would highly recommend Pazzo as your next dining destination!

    Great dining experience: food and service were excellent. Small critique: the pasta was fantastic but the pasta portions are not that big. Therefore, if you want to order their excellent pasta, make sure you also order an appetizer.

    We celebrated our second wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. Mary, our server was exceptional, probably one of the best we have ever had. My husband had the lamb which was to die for and I had the chicken. It was good but wasn’t mind blowing but still an enjoyable meal. Definitely will be back!
