From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community. From the bonds staff made during countless summer seasons, to the engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings, Pates has been a backdrop for exceptional moments and people.

We are honored to steward the next chapter of the Pates journey. A renovated space to create new memories and friends, Pates is still that very special place. With careful consideration, we have redefined this Chatham classic and are serving up an experience rooted in the best things in life: great food, good people, and lifelong memories.

We had a lovely evening with friends. We all liked our meal. Service was attentive but not hovering. The restaurant was quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting.

Food was good and nice size portions. Service was very friendly but slow and the specialty cocktails were very disappointing.

A restaurant that we love to go but we’re sadly disappointed. Mainly our main course which were flavorless and in my case the special Carribean Pot arrived with no shrimp and just warm.

Excellent food, perfectly prepared, great service. All four of us enjoyed every bit of our meals and we shared two desserts.

Seated promptly- we each had a martini - avg $18 each. App- Tuna cones - very impressive - they look like mini ice cream cones with whipped wasabi cream - flavor perfect. Would have liked a little more tuna in each come. Salad -pumpkin hummus Barrera salad - excellent. Took half home good to share Small plate crab cake - really good serves with qpple fennel slaw. Another good bite! Kungpao chicken - friend said she would order it again Parm fries - share these as the portion was a lot ! Overall great dining
