Join us on the evening of the 14th February in our English brassie restaurant to enjoy a unique Valentine's menu with your significant other curated by Executive chef Lee Clarke. His 5-course set menu promises a memorable dining experience, including Onion Consommé with Sage & Truffle, Pork Cheek & Tunworth Cheese, Venison Wellington with BBQ lettuce sauce & endive. To finish, Poached Pear in Champagne & Vanilla. 5-course set menu is £70 per person. This will replace the A La Carte menu this evening only.

Service was really poor, drinks forgotten, sauces for chips took ages ( until chips gone) drinks at bar before meal took 14 minutes to come, erasing our oportunity to actually drink the drinks at the bar. Food was ok - starters delicious, mains were nothing special. Surprise pudding for birthday boy - which was nice touch. Overall a bit of a disappointment for what should have been a lovely celebration.

We had a lovely evening, the food was delicious. Great atmosphere and the staff attentive. It was our anniversary and they had put rose petals on our table and after our meal they brought us a glass of bubbly each and a chocolate with a candle . This was a lovely gesture and really made our night.

Firstly , food was amazing! Service really let us down, if you like to drink beer this isn't the restaurant for you, cans only and everything served in warm glasses, we had to ask for the glass (not pint) to be chilled with ice to reduce the froth. If you are ordering snacks as well as starters, ensure you ask for them to come at same time, delayed our starters by 35 minutes, even though some of table had snacks and some starters. It also took 35 mins for the order to be taken which is quite unusual. Menus never got removed from table. Main meals came out slow as well. Table behind us had been sat down 15 minutes and got their order quickly, there was 8 of us but nobody discussed any delays. Nobody asked if we wanted more drinks, how our meal was going, poured more wine, poured the cans of beer. Cutlery and dishes all got cleaned quickly and efficiently. However cans and glasses we had to ask when new orders got taken. When recieving bill we did not believe £60 service was ok, we paid £20 to be polite. Staff are all lovely but for the cost of the meal and the fact we booked for a surprise 60th, we got let down. It also seems different staff carry out different tasks, so when you ask for drinks it's never actually the person that takes your drinks order so you have to re-ask for them to come over. I have been here 4 times and it's put me off rushing back, the worst it's been for us, which is a shame as the food was lovely.

Food was very tasty particularly bearing in mind the numbers. Service was friendly and efficient although limited knowledge about the wine choice. Disappointing that the wine we chose was not available and no similar choice.

The evening was absolutely perfect—exquisite dinner, exceptional music, and an unforgettable ambiance. The only downside was the cutoff at 1 AM, leaving us wishing the night could last longer. Truly a remarkable experience overall!

Good quality local ingredients, well cooked but needed a finishing touch, e.g. the pork chop could have had a jus or sauce as although well presented dish a tad dry. Moreover either fat could have been trimmed off more or else cut off and turned into crackling. Few people now eat a half inch ribbon of fat. Figs on honey and sourdough parfait under ripe, and would have benefitted from a little honey when pan seared, so that total eating experience perfect. Cheffy touches on the honeycomb and bee tuilles were pretty. Service was very discreet, a little less discretion and more attention would have increased feeling of being valued customer, e.g., asking how main course was, if anything more needed, offering a fork to eat large profiteroles with rather than just giving a spoon.

Staff were not knowledgable -wine unordered wasn’t available and they suggested very odd alternatives with a shrug that they didn’t know what to suggest. Food was strange -I ordered ‘bubble and squeak’ and I got something which was like baby food -mashed potato with large chunks of onion in it, no texture and definitely was not bubble and squeak (and did not look like the photo of the dish online either). Another nearby table were taking constant selfies of each other so it was just an hour of flashing lights every few minutes. Finally it took ages to get someone’s attention to get the bill.

Great place, lovely staff shame the service and food lets it down. Ordered Olives and Bread, should have been four different types, received two with no cocktail sticks to eat them with and no side plates for the bread. The Pigs in Blankets we ordered for a starter were inedible, pure uncooked fatty bacon and anaemic sausages. The lemon Sole fillets were good but at £35 you would have thought you'd get something with it other than Watercress. Very disappointed with the Homemade Ice Cream option on the dessert menu as all you get offered is Vanilla!! Its a pity as we thoroughly enjoy the venue.
