We're Papa's Tapas—a proud fixture of Delray Beach's Atlantic Ave for nearly 15 incredible years. Our local family restaurant will bring you back to Old World Spain with tapas & dinner menus featuring proprietary recipes that have been passed down for generations.
Our Executive Chef, Cristobal 'Papa' Parra has crafted a menu that celebrates authentic Spanish flavors—from savory Tapas & Signature Sangrias to delicious Paellas & refreshing cocktails. Papa's Tapas offers a charming Spanish dining experience for our guests to enjoy sharing tapas with their friends & loved ones.

We went for dinner on a Wednesday and ordered entirely from the long tapas menu, skipping the main entrees. Spanish omelet, garbanzo/chorizo, patatas bravas and tostones tapas were very good. Jamon Serrano was okay; surprised they did not have the higher-quality Jamon Iberico. The wine list was limited, but had decent options from Ribera del Duero. Our server seemed somewhat inexperienced, but was caring and kind - not a problem. Our seating was odd - 80% of the tables were empty yet the greeter sat us right next to another couple, wherein our tables were practically touching. We assumed that other reservations would soon be filling the small restaurant, but the place was 70% empty when we were finished. We were not there for Happy Hour, but noted they have good HH values.

I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and perfectly seasoned. So far I’ve had the mushrooms that are made with garlic, olive oil and sun-dried tomatoes served hot and just delicious flavor. For an entree I had the chicken with mushrooms, onions and sun-dried tomatoes served with yellow rice, black beans, and plantains. I had a side of plantains. And for dessert, we had the flan which is creamy, not overly sweet or eggy and just right. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The ambience is casual and welcoming. This is our new favorite restaurant that we will be visiting it often.

Servers very attentive and friendly. They remembered my dad's food allergy from a previous time. Excellent skirt steak and empanadas. Good drinks too

Worst paella I’ve ever eaten. Everything was overcooked in our seafood paella. Greasy with no sauce or flavour. Tapas and bread were greasy. Bread was stale. Service was nonexistent as they were understaffed. Two couples in the next table walked out after 90 minutes waiting for their meal. When I told staff about inedible dishes they reduced bill by 10%! Will never go back.

Arthur 2 reviews this week, about the same night but both with different descriptions. Paella does not come with a sauce, it's rice cooked with seafood. As I mentioned in your google review if you were disappointed I wish you would have asked to see the manager and I would have gladly taken care of your paella, if it was not up to your standards. I also mentioned in your google review that we were not understaffed that night we were just extremely busy. We are a family run business that has been in delray for 16 years, we pride ourselves in making sure our guest have a good experience. However what we don't tolerate is that you spread misinformation saying people walked out after 90 minutes of not receiving food. Once again happy new year Arthur.
