Paoli Schoolhouse American Bistro is located on the banks of the Sugar River in Paoli, WI. The Schoolhouse was built in 1864 and was converted into a restaurant in 2008. We pride ourselves in supporting local vendors and ingredients to bring you the best quality dishes.

Enjoy a meal in our beautiful bistro or on the deck/patio as weather permits. We have a great selection of wine, cocktails, and carry a variety of domestic and craft beers.

The Schoolhouse is also a great venue for small events - micro weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, baby showers, and any other celebrations!

We really enjoy the food and service. My only complaint is that it’s noisy with the music and people talking. We were a table of 4 and one of the people wears hearing aides and couldn’t hear us over the other conversations and music.

Excellent experience! Ayden, our waiter, did a great job taking care of us. Absolutely the best chicken I have eaten.

Our group of 7 all completely enjoyed our food. I had the mussels, which I have always loved there. They used to serve them with excellent frites, but have changed to 2 slices of buttered, slightly toasted bread. PERFECTION! The bread allowed me to soak up some of the sauce, where the frites just got a tad soggy. Several people had the tomato bisque- every one of them wanted the recipe. Our wait person had a fun sense of humor and made our lunch even more fun. I LIVE this place, it’s well worth the travel.

Amazing everything tucked away in a small town. Skip downtown Madison and come here instead.

This is a charming place for brunch, lunch and dinner. We were there for brunch with another couple. The noise level in the main dining room was very high until the room started to empty out. We have been going there for many years and this has been a pretty consistent problem. If the dining room is crowded, conversation is definitely limited. The menu is creative with many choices on the spicy side. Everything was prepared nicely and we enjoyed it. The coconut cream pie is dearly missed, however!
