Palette provides a colorful dining experience with an American inspired menu featuring in-house cut steaks and 21-day aged 100% black Angus beef.

As we inherited a space as historical as the former Mautz Paint Company warehouse, we had to do it justice. We kept our building’s architectural features intact while updating the space with contemporary design elements and nostalgic touches. We wanted to keep the space faithful to its roots; filled with hues of colors and textures reminiscing of times when the East Washington corridor was a booming industrial area in the city.

Our menu features steak cuts made in-house, chef’s masterpieces, artisan salads and soups, along with a unique beer and hand-crafted cocktail selection.

We wanted outside dining but I didn’t think we would be sitting on East Washington ave. Very loud! The food was very mediocre but expensive! The basic salad was supposed to have toppings but they were extremely limited-a couple kernels of corn & a couple bits of bacon. The only thing that was really good were the cheese curds. Drinks are very expensive! We,probably will not go back.

First time dining here. Really impressed by the whole package - nice atmosphere where you can talk without the music being too loud, really tasty food, outstanding service. We will definitely be back.

Overall a great experience. Friendly staff members, tasty drinks, and delicious food. The setting was trendy, warm, and welcoming. We had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the Color Water drink. The potato soup was one of the best I have even had. The main courses were good, but not great. I had the chicken parmesan. I would like order something different in the future.

It’s in a hotel, which if fine, but was a surprise as we pulled up. The service was very slow and there were only a few tables. Food was pretty good

We enjoyed this restaurant several years ago, but our experience was very different this time. The food quality for 2 of us was very poor. We will not come back when we return to Madison

Very good service! Mixed drinks were excellent, but wish they were a bit bigger, like a supper club. Food was good with salmon, and hand held sandwiches. Could use a few more vegan options.

We dined outside and fortunately the weather was good after a rainy afternoon. The food was good, the service was good and the location across from Breese Field was perfect.
