Nothing could be more convenient, other than an overnight stay here at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands where you could walk to your room after dinner.

Enjoy the vocal stylings of Dino Vera in the Lobos Lounge every Saturday night from 7:00pm until 10pm and Tuesdays from 5:00-9:00. Peer at the wildlife on Bird Rock at Point Lobos through the ship's telescope in the corner, then drop the lens and join the party, dancing to tunes such as "Great Balls of Fire," one of their more raucous covers that always seems to get everyone up and dancing in merriment.

    We came from out of town, made reservation in advance, dressed up nicely, and looked forward to an exciting experience by the ocean. Their by the window table was boring because in a nice restaurant as they are advised, they should have large flash light into the ocean to provide the experience of dinning with a view at night. Our reservation was at 8pm and they did not have ran out of any fishes on the menu. When asked the waitress what food was the restaurant more well known for, and she was inconclusive saying that it depends on what you like and not giving more information. In a $$$$ restaurant they should first be more welcoming, happy looking, and knowledgeable on all the foods. They should be able to give nice recommendations. The service was bad. For drink, my husband got an old fashion, that he described as the worse he ever had. The glass was only halfway full when the drink was submerged into the big ice. I got the textbook Cabernet Sauvignon, which tasted good but by glass and bottle was $26/$99, where I looked up the wine and it was only $23.99 anywhere else. For appetizer, we got their clam chowder soup and Salina’s salad, which were Ok again nothing special. For dinner, we ordered a 16- oz bone-in ribeye to share, and it was very ordinary nothing special. We had the worst experience in our last staying at Monterey in their restaurant. We skipped the dessert because nothing was special there. We would never recommend and/or go back there. BTW, the atmosphere was nothing special and dead at 8pm on a Saturday night.

    We have a lovely time! They were able to accommodate us all in a beautiful wine room, party of 14 Great food, great service, beautiful place!!

    Made reservation early for Christmas Day dinner, not attended at the restaurant in the first place … very chaotic server situation , with no patience from any of the server who severed . No kids menu provided even though I specified a 7 year old in the reservation. Asked the Server 3-4 times for kids menu, and said they will print it right now. But in the end were not offered the menu while ordering and had to order on the spot for kid. Better service could be provided to a big party like us.
