Welcome to Ozumo, a Japanese restaurant located on Santana Row in San Jose. Ozumo was one of the first restaurants to combine sushi and robata cooking under one roof. Ozumo offers exquisite robata grilled items and masterfully crafted makimono. Ozumo takes you on a culinary adventure that celebrates the rich traditions of Japanese cuisine. Ozumo introduced chilled, high-quality sake to its’ guests, by curating one of the finest collections from Japan’s most esteemed brewers.

Ozumo remains committed to its culinary roots while also elevating its menu with the assistance of a new Chef Partner, Chef Yukinori Yamamoto. Chef Yamamoto, who embarked on his culinary journey at the age of 18, has accumulated 33 years of experience in crafting Japanese cuisine and is now making a formidable impact at Ozumo.

Made a rese for dinner, but ended up grabbing apps/drinks beforehand, so just came for desert and an espresso martini!! 🍸 The basque cheesecake was delicious, we will be coming back for dinner very soon! I’ve been going to Ozumos (SF) for at least 10 years, and I love the vibes and the food!

We love Ozumo and have been here 20+ times. The food is delicious, but the service has been spotty and inconsistent on our last couple visits. Still one of our favorite spots!

Came here to celebrate a joint birthday. Love the food. We dined early & the restaurant was nearly empty but service was still a bit slow. Even after we let the server know at the beginning of the meal & reminded him towards the end.

The food and drinks here were really delicious. I particularly loved the brussel sprouts. My friends had the cod, which appeared to be cooked perfectly. The veggie sushi was tiny, but fresh with perfect consistency. The agedashi tofu was also very good . I had a strawberry cocktail, which had an adorable presentation and was light and refreshing. The atmosphere was clean and modern with plenty of seating. My only complaint is the price. Although delicious, I thought the prices were too extravagant for this restaurant. I also am not a fan of how hectic Santana Row is, but if you live close that shouldn't be a deterrent.

Our server was great. He was very attentive and took time to explain menu items. I would say the food is “OK” but not something I would return to try again.

Quality sushi but pretentious in every way… We indulge in a lot of sushi and have so for gosh… 30 years now… this was so much hype than substance. The prices were ridiculous for the quality- I’m not saying it wasn’t delicious because it was… especially the fries which by the way were on the house! But oh my gosh- the prices in comparison to the quality/quantity. For instance the 3 piece Unagi- it was appropriately priced for an actual 3 piece serving but this was a one piece size- very thin, very tiny. The rolls were ordered at the cost of $25 each were just nothing special. No stand outs- unsatisfying experience overall-

The bar was so backed up that we didn’t get our drinks until after we were done eating. That’s really unacceptable. Food was excellent though
