Welcome to Ozumo, a Japanese restaurant located on Santana Row in San Jose. Ozumo was one of the first restaurants to combine sushi and robata cooking under one roof. Ozumo offers exquisite robata grilled items and masterfully crafted makimono. Ozumo takes you on a culinary adventure that celebrates the rich traditions of Japanese cuisine. Ozumo introduced chilled, high-quality sake to its’ guests, by curating one of the finest collections from Japan’s most esteemed brewers.

Service is excellent! Grilled fish and sushi are authentic and exceptional in the San Jose area. The appetizers especially the salmon Tata is less than expected- just does not work , either the hard and too chewy Cristy rice or the salmon itself

Very slow service. One of our appetizers was so late that we paid and finally left before it was brought to us.

Great date night. Staff very nicely accommodated my table request, helped make my date night a little more special. The food was outstanding. Two or three "gaps" in service (it was a busy night). I've dined at Ozumo's many times and will continue to do so, also recommend to others. All good.

Excellent service, great environment. Everyone we dealt with was top notch. The food was good, but a little on the bland side for our taste. And, if my husband is going to spend $20 on three pieces of Hamachi, he wants the slices to be thicker! That said, the sunomono salad was the best I ever had and all the condiments - soy sauce, ginger, wasabi - are made in house.

Great food, ambience and service from Ozumo. There’s a variety of menu items to choose from from sushi to cooked. It’s best to make reservations as it gets very crowded and busy at times. Service is always very good. It’s my go-to place!

This was my second time. This time I booked a Sunday reservation for 12pm, when they literally open up. There were maybe 3 parties in the restaurant this day. I can't say if the notes in my reservation were followed or if they just happened to place me and my friend in a great spot because they did. There was also a 49ers game this day around this time of the reservation. The parking garage offers 2 hr free parking and then charges after that. Food eas delicious, service was quick and easy, no hiccups. I wish there was more ginger on the plates with sushi. Ambiance was super quiet and I had no problem hearing my friend talk. He liked the food as well and this was his first time. I had the rainbow roll and something with deep fried and eel and unagi sauce. Both were delicious. I don't know what my friend got. This place is expensive. No doubts there. Great place for a date though.

We booked an outdoor table on the patio for a Friday night out and really appreciated that the patio was sheltered from the cold and had plentiful heaters to keep things comfortable. As always, it's wonderful that there are so many items labeled gluten free, and that the soy sauce at all the tables is gluten free by default! We enjoyed getting an assortment of dishes, but especially loved the salmon skin hand roll. Mark was fantastic and so personable and attentive. We can't wait to come back!

From the beginning the hostess was super nice and so were the servers, the sushi & appetizers were fresh and different than other Japanese restaurants. As for their cocktail menu, they did not skimp on the alcohol, the drinks were tasty and amazing! It’s a a great spot for a GNO! :)

Made a rese for dinner, but ended up grabbing apps/drinks beforehand, so just came for desert and an espresso martini!! 🍸 The basque cheesecake was delicious, we will be coming back for dinner very soon! I’ve been going to Ozumos (SF) for at least 10 years, and I love the vibes and the food!

We love Ozumo and have been here 20+ times. The food is delicious, but the service has been spotty and inconsistent on our last couple visits. Still one of our favorite spots!
