Ōwa is a return home for Sushi and Japanese cuisine on Abbot Kinney. The culinary program showcases a modern take on sushi favorites and other Japanese classics using from-scratch recipes and fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The spirit center of Ōwa is an artful balance of light, floral Japanese Gins and bold Japanese whiskeys. With appearances of shōchū, yuzu, an extensive sake selection, and Japanese beer heroes, Ōwa’s beverage offerings would not be complete without several tequila and mezcal tributes that pay homage to the Mexican roots of Los Angeles. Owa was great! I went in with a friend to try their dine la menu and all the food that came out were fresh and tasty. Sushi can be simple but so complex to ensure a delicate experience. This seemed to be accomplished with their crudos, spicy tuna crispy rice, and rolls that came out. We enjoyed the craft cocktails as well. We both ordered the Lychee Love Me cocktail and that had a good strong taste of gin but blended well with the other ingredients. We loved the desserts that we chose too. Ordered the matcha tiramisu and the tres leches to try both. Didn't disappoint as we kept savoring each spoonful. We left with a full belly!

Terrible service, we waited forever for drinks and didn’t arrive at same time. Some of our food order was never put it on brought after asking repeatedly. The noise level is crazy unless you sit a the very back near kitchen. Would not go back, very disappointing.

I made a reservation at 9:15 and they could not seat us until 9:45 and only after I told the host that this was unacceptable. From there, the service, drinks, and food were terrible. Absolutely not worth the price and will not be back. Extremely disappointed

Overall the spot is great, but took way too long for simple drinks and edamame to be served. We waited 15-20 min after ordering and had to remind the server. My drink was also wrong and had to be sent back. Second round of drinks too equally as long and they forgot a red wine, which also took a long time to receive. Sushi is good but a bit overpriced.

Booked a table and got sat at the bar. The service was good initially and then they forgot about us.

Took over 5 min to be greeted at door, server was fine, food was decent and came out quickly, very over priced for quality. Wouldn’t go back
