Ōwa is a return home for Sushi and Japanese cuisine on Abbot Kinney. The culinary program showcases a modern take on sushi favorites and other Japanese classics using from-scratch recipes and fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The spirit center of Ōwa is an artful balance of light, floral Japanese Gins and bold Japanese whiskeys. With appearances of shōchū, yuzu, an extensive sake selection, and Japanese beer heroes, Ōwa’s beverage offerings would not be complete without several tequila and mezcal tributes that pay homage to the Mexican roots of Los Angeles. Staff is very friendly and made a special occasion a lot of fun (even gave us a free dessert). Food was *fabulous*, especially the Miso Cod. Great Saki, too. We sat in the middle "open" section, with the fireplace, and it wasn't noisy at all in that section. We were able to converse w/out an issue. I would definitely recommend, and plan on returning soon!

We were seated in the back of the restaurant when some commotion broke out - people began getting up and leaving. Confused and undirected, we continued to sit out our table until we started coughing due to residual pepper spray from whatever occurred in the front of the restaurant. We ended up leaving out of the back of the restaurant and found guests and staff in the back who were talking about the pepper spray incident and guests were calling the police. At no point did staff direct guests, follow any form of safety procedure, or provide support or follow up with guests. We ended up just leaving and no one from the restaurant reached out to make sure their patrons were ok. Terrible incident for the restaurant but could and should have been handled very differently.

This spot is perfect for a romantic date night. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is top-notch. My partner loved the "SPICY GARLIC EDAMAME" – it was incredible! Ideal for a first date or rekindling romance, the drinks are excellent, and the open roof adds a romantic touch. Great for meaningful conversations with your date or friends. Highly recommended!

The service was great, with attention to detail and quick. The special lunch menu is definitely worth it, and the staff made it extra special with a dessert to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I highly recommend this place, good prize for the food and location.
