I ordered the crabcakes which were small and heavily breaded. The brocolli was oversalted and overseasoned and the fries came with honey on them, which the waiter did not inform about. The salad with grilled chicken on it was much more palatable and a good size. Next time I would not order seafood from here.

Our server was Hunter and he was top notch. His attention to detail was impeccable. Our steaks were superbly delicious. We will be back.

Food was bad. No flavor at all. For appetizer ordered French fries and it was given with plain cheese and nothing else, seems overpriced. I ordered the mahi mahi and center was cold and sauce seems from a bottle. My partner ordered a plate with meat and said had no flavor at all; the only thing that helped was the bbq sauces. Rice had a weird texture and flavor. Food was just thrown in a plate, no decoration, no toppings, no nothing. Didn’t look appealing and that goes in line with the total lack of flavor. The only 2 good options was the bread and salads.

This is my third visit to Ovation Bistro in Lakeland. I especially like the Ovation Chicken dish and the 2 for 1 drinks. The only thing I would rate a little lower is the ambiance. It looks rather sterile...even the bar doesn't look warm and inviting. And the glass doors and windows need a good cleaning.

Ambiance was dark, booths were not solid, you could feel the person behind you when they moved. Staff were friendly enough. I wouldn't call them waiters, more servers. One went round the room 3 times looking for the table with the salads he had on his tray. Landed one of them on our table before we told him that we didn't order that. Service to put our meal in was slow but to get the food was adequate. I opted for 6oz sirloin, medium rare, loaded baked potato and baked beans. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned...lots of pepper which I like. Baked potato was hot and fresh beans were super nice. The cooks know what they are doing even if the service staff dont. Restaurant itself need some serious re-modeling. Like all restaurants these days, to manager/matre d' hotel cam to the table to check on food quality and service.

My appetizer plate was dirty first. Had to ask for silverware after receiving appetizers. When I ordered I ask for my salad dressing be put on side. Which was not. My baked potato was not cooked through and my steak, I couldn’t eat it because it was so tough. Just really disappointed. Then my ticket was not correct.
