The historic Ostrich Inn Colnbrook, Heathrow, dates back 900 years to 1106–supposedly the third oldest inn in England. With bar, restaurant, private dining areas and function space as well as bedrooms it caters to a range of guest requirements and modern expectations.
Today you can enjoy honest, tasty pub food, fresh local ingredients, in relaxed and comfortable surroundings, yet only a stones throw from Heathrow Airport and main transport links. Serving wine by the glass or bottle and a choice of real ales.
Exterior exhibits a wonky timbered facade, but lots of care and attention has been spent bringing this former coaching inn up to date, expect dark slate floors, open fireplace, brilliant jewel colours & stained glass, as well as sand-blasted beams & a cobbled courtyard.

1st visit for Sunday Roast. Very limited on beers. Service was slow. Meal was not very hot when it arrived. Roast Beef was very rare. Hardly any gravy like a dessert spoonful. I asked for more which was supplied in a little jug. Food portions were good. Staff not very attentive . Did not ask if everything was OK. When ready to pay the bill. Absolutely nobody around to pay bill. Both had dissappeared on a break. On looking at the bill later when I got home, I was charged 50p for the extra gravy. I was not told at the time that there would be an extra charge. The meal on the expensive side. I would expect a much greater standard of service for the price. I was disappointed.

Starters were good. Curry night. Choice of Vegetarian, lamb rogan Josh or butter chicken. All were marked as spicy. Normally Butter chicken is the mildest but this was Very hot and spicy. Now have blisters and rough skin inside my mouth. The other meal chosen was Fish and chips which in fairness was very good. We did mention how hot the curry was and the waitress reported back to the kitchen. Whether that will bring about any changes remains to be seen. To have 3 very hot curries on the same menu does not make sense as not everyone likes them. We did get some money off the bill but overall we won't be hurrying back.

The meal was delicious and very reasonably priced, so compliments to the chef! Table service was also very quick, friendly and efficient.

The food was wonderful, however the service was awful. We were told (after going to find someone to take our order) that they had ‘forgotten us’ - as there was a party in another area and we were the only ones in the restaurant! We then had to wait nearly an hour for our roasts! Luckily they were delicious when they finally arrived.

The Ostrich Inn was an amazing find. Touring the UK, we wanted to experience a pug style meal. And we found this little gem. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the pub scene. Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff. We sat in the garden on a spectacular evening. Was one of the best places I have ever been to. The food was top notch. We have of course the fish and chips…… what can I say but amazing.

Both had the special of lamb rump. It was fantastic. The chocolate fondant desert was also excellent. Wine was very good and a good price as well. Will go back again.
