OSTRA, a signature restaurant of Peninsula Papagayo, is a culinary gem led by Michelin-trained Chef Bruno Alves. Experience an extraordinary menu evolution and savor elevated, modern Costa Rican flavors re-imagined and infused with the best locally sourced farm-to-table ingredients. Sip classic cocktails at the bar or terrace and celebrate the essence of coastal dining. Also, we now offer Perla, a restaurant within a restaurant at the sushi bar. This modern sushi experience serves only local fish and operates Tuesday-Friday based on product availability.

Ostra is a beautiful restaurant with great service. The atmosphere was very chic and modern and the service was attentive and considerate. However, the food was subpar. I went for dinner and lunch and both times I was given something that was not the dish that was advertised. For dinner, I ordered the "handmade seafood pasta." The pasta in my dish was not handmade, it looked and tasted like rice a roni. It had the texture and taste of rice. For lunch, I ate at the pool by Ostra and ordered the "papaya salad." There was no papaya in the salad. Very disappointing considering the price and reputation. I was very disappointed that the dish was falsely advertised/not clearly communicated. I would highly recommend that you ask the server about the dish before you order it

Fue una experiencia extraordinaria, la comida exquisita, la amabilidad excelente, y el lugar una maravilla. Mis amigos y yo estábamos celebrando nuestro cumpleaños y de verdad nos hicieron sentir especial. Los recomiendo al cien por ciento. Gracias por todo! Pura Vida!

The best service and staff, and great food!!They are so attentive to their guests, and left the sweetest gift for us on the last night of our stay in our guest room. I wish I could come back all of the time!!

Really busy night at Ostra tonight! Seemed sold out from what I could tell. My boyfriend and I came to celebrate his birthday, and Ostra was amazing! We loved Gaudy, the sushi chef. She made our food to perfection and offered us a taste of Miso Soup. Really showed us the value of Hyatt’s “Thoughtfully Sourced, Carefully Served.” Food was delicious, great wine, and great people!

We loved this restaurant. It starts with a really cool entrance way that sets the tone for the restaurant. We were there for vinyl week which included a really great DJ in the corner next to our table. All the food was excellent. We started with the red snapper ceviche at other reviews’ recommendations and the dumplings at the recommendation of the waiter staff. My husband had the chicken curry, I had the red snapper, and our daughter had the shrimp paella We all loved our meals. Also the cocktails were really well done. I had a Sunset Mist which was a tropical style martini and my husband had the old fashioned and the Guna guero which was also well done.

Food quality and service was excellent. Would have preferred a large number of menu options, but what we had was quite good.
