The whole experience was amazing. What a beautiful restaurant! Ambiance was impeccable from the lighting to the music and the beautiful decor inside and out. Service was off the charts! The bartenders and servers, and bussers took such good care of us, very attentive and always there when we needed anything… never any empty glass or dirty plate lingering. The food…. Everything was delicious, from the salad and scallops to the handmade cheesy truffle pasta and ohhh the dessert… oh my those cannolis are unreal!! it was all to die for! Mark the manager is awesome and has amazing hair ;). Ten stars! Can’t wait to come back! <3

John took excellent care of our table and also had other employees keeping an eye to make sure drinks were filled and that everything was to our liking. Their wood-fired steaks were unlike any other steaks we’ve tried in the area and cooked to perfection. Definitely an experience to be had and will be recommending this restaurant.

From beginning to end it was impressive. Firstly, if you have never been there you get an introduction to what Osteria umbra is all about. Second, the wine list and the whiskey list are extensive. The sommelier walked over and introduced himself. He was very knowledgeable. We ended up with a red that was to our liking. Thirdly, the food was INCREDIBLE. we had the pasta made in the aged cheese, with the octopus. Both were delicious. For dinner we had the veal on the bone and the Bronzino. The veal was the best veal I have ever had, better than most steaks I’ve had as well. The dessert was the one that put us on our backs, the tiramisu and the cheesecake were a perfect end along with their espresso. The whole meal was an experience and would definitely recommend if you’re looking for great Italian food, authentic to its roots combined with an experience that will have you walking out of there thinking about what you’re getting the next time you come back. Well done Osteria Umbra, well done.

Osteria Umbra never ceases to amaze me. Outstanding food and service every time. My waiter John was amazing, and the manager is the best I have ever seen in any high-end restaurant! Always make your weekend reservations at least a week in advance. Best on Long Island for great Italian and steaks!
