Osteria Amore came to life because we believe in the power of food to change your day, or in our case, change your life.

Owner Eduardo Daja has been working in restaurants since he was a teenager growing up in Italy, and his time in culinary school only strengthened his passion for food. After culinary school, Ed stayed in Bologna to work at a family-owned restaurant. He moved to Utah eight years ago, and found himself missing his first love, food. For the past three years, Ed has been managing an Italian restaurant while also maintaining a career in tech and finally made the life-changing decision to open his own restaurant.

That big decision was made possible for Ed when he met Marco Cuttaia, Osteria Amore’s executive chef and partner. Ed’s training in Bologna, considered the food capital of Italy, and Marco’s upbringing in Palermo, known for its incredible street food, bridge northern and southern Italian culinary tradition in a way that’s never been done in Salt Lake City.

We went for lunch. Everyone was wonderful, from the greeter & seater to the wait staff. We had three antipasta dishes to share. All was deeelicious. Can't wait to try a dinner night out here...very soon!

The only complaint is the tables and chairs are too close together. Loved the food. Service was excellent. Drinks from the bar were creative and tasty.

Abbey was the nicest waitress ever! She made our table so comfortable and we enjoyed my birthday dinner! The best Italian restaurant in Salt Lake!

Food was absolutely outstanding! Reception and table service was underwhelming. Reception struggled to communicate appropriate expectations, and caused a delayed wait, despite having a reservation. Table service took 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. The food more than made up for those service items.

While there was a larger table, kitchen was very slow to get us our meals. Then, mine was served 8 minutes before my friends, and they neglected to add the chicken to his spaghetti before it was served. Food was pretty good but service detracted from the experience, and the food was not hot.

Things started out great with salad and bread but we waited and waited for our entree to be served. We asked several times if our dinner was coming as we had tickets to a performance that we didn't want to miss. We were seated at 5:55 p.m. and did not have our entree an hour later. We finally left without eating as we didn't want to speed eat an expensive dinner if it did finally come out. They didn't charge us for the entree (just the wine) but it was still stressful as we had really looked forward to a great dinner before our show. We wish the communication would have been better. We've heard the restaurant is great so perhaps we just hit it on a bad night.

The hostess called me to confirm my reservation and when I told her that we would be there, she responded with “okay well we are overbooked so you may need to wait a bit”. I let her know that I reserved this table 2+ weeks ago and it was a work dinner. She responded with “okay well others ahead of you have reservations too” and when I said “okay” she hung up. I called back and spoke with Abby, who ended up being our server, and she was great and took good care of us. I was upset with how the hostess treated us and was very much appreciative of Abby making it right.
