Osteria Amore came to life because we believe in the power of food to change your day, or in our case, change your life.

Owner Eduardo Daja has been working in restaurants since he was a teenager growing up in Italy, and his time in culinary school only strengthened his passion for food. After culinary school, Ed stayed in Bologna to work at a family-owned restaurant. He moved to Utah eight years ago, and found himself missing his first love, food. For the past three years, Ed has been managing an Italian restaurant while also maintaining a career in tech and finally made the life-changing decision to open his own restaurant.

That big decision was made possible for Ed when he met Marco Cuttaia, Osteria Amore’s executive chef and partner. Ed’s training in Bologna, considered the food capital of Italy, and Marco’s upbringing in Palermo, known for its incredible street food, bridge northern and southern Italian culinary tradition in a way that’s never been done in Salt Lake City.

Pricy restaurant but phenomenal food and service. Great options for gluten free and would highly recommend the risotto with a seafood medley.

The food is good enough, though the service is always lacking. I’ve been there several times and it always seems like the servers are stretched. Thin, it takes forever to get drinks or food, and their treatment of customers leaves a bit to be desired. For example, the hostess doesn’t actually greet you, she rather grunted grab the menus and assume we would follow her. Asking for something as simple as more bread can take 15 to 20 minutes as can the addition of another cocktail. They seem rather disorganized although they appear to be a lot of people wandering around.

Ambiance and service are excellent. Our server was top notch. Food is good but had a couple issues. My pasta came out luke warm but not hot. Caprese salad had cherry tomatoes which were ok. My cherry tomatoes that I grow are tastier. Octopus appetizer was excellent. I would go again but try different dishes.

Our waitress was delightful, and was very proactive in helping us decide our dishes, & getting things boxed up for us throughout the meal as we ordered a lot! Everything we had was wonderful.

Delicious! Authentic! Charming! Osteria Amore is a GEM. Everything was delicious... from apps, to entrees to desserts, our party of 4 all give rave reviews. Our waitress Abby was knowledgeable and personable. Owner Eduardo was the perfect host. How much he cares about his business shows in the quality of the food and staff. Well done, Osteria Amore. On a future trip to Salt Lake, we will be back!
