I enjoy coming to Osteria Ama, the food is always consistent and the servers are welcoming and willing to accommodate allergies and changes in the menu

It was a very warm day, and the restaurant was quite warm. I know it can be hard to keep a space cool in the significant heat. If that is the case, at least offer your guests cold water. When our glasses were filled it was with lukewarm water, no ice in sight. We had to ask for ice. Our server was very nice, but she was completely overwhelmed. While it looked like she was the only server in the place, we later learned there was someone else also serving. However, our server was taking care of the majority of the tables and it was just too busy for that. We ordered the “Mixed Olives and Cheeses” and the Calamari. The “mixed olives” was listed under “while you wait”. We waited quite a bit and it didn’t arrive until the Calamari arrived. The “Mixed Olives and Cheeses” was a few small black olives that tasted like they were right from the can and a few small green olives. The “cheeses” was just cheese, three small pieces of tasteless feta. All of it had some sort of olive oil and herb mixture which didn’t add anything to the dish. The Calamari was rubbery and the breading was falling off before you could take it out of the container in which it was served. The dipping sauce had clearly been put in a small dish hours before as the edges had begun to dry out and a “skin” had started to form. I ordered Chicken Parm. It was served on a cast iron dish which was fine, except it had been heated so long that the sauce had fully dried out and burned some on the sides. Someone else at our table ordered the same thing. Their dish was served with more sauce that wasn’t burned. This is obviously how it was intended to be served but the kitchen could not manage to get both out the same way. Honestly, even with all that, I would be tempted to try the place again. The sauce that should have been on my chicken was on my pasta and was tasty. I brought a guest for lunch. We started with the (amazing) grilled artichokes, shared, and a Caprese stack, also shared. Entrees included the mushroom risotto and the Fra Diavolo pasta. A pleasant and delicious lunch overall. I highly recommend going there.

Busy Monday night, but food and service were excellent ! Server brought out a dessert for my daughter graduation and that was very sweet . We will definitely be back

Enjoy the Resturant however hearing it’s also a South Philly restaurant it didn’t stand up the the name.. The service was excellent and we will return.. Being from Brooklyn I know & understand a good Italian restaurant

No one shared specials with us or asked how our food was - just took our order, delivered our food and then gave us our check. Wasn’t very welcoming. Staff were all on their phones.
