Welcome to OROSOKO Sound Bar, a South End restaurant and cocktail lounge featuring a unique East vs. West menu, exquisite sound, comfortable acoustics and a team of gracious hosts, passionate in delivering inspired hospitality. This cocktail, or “listening”, lounge offers a unique setting to enjoy craft cocktails and relaxed fine dining from renowned Chef Jay Pound, while immersed in the curated sounds of a skilled DJ on our world-class audio system. There simply is nothing like it.

Indulge in our beautifully crafted signature cocktails, while savoring Asian and Latin inspired tapas-style shareables in a natural environment that exudes sophistication, comfort and luxury. At Orosoko, we pride ourselves on delivering a first-class, welcoming atmosphere that is stylish, but never pretentious. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday - 4:30pm-12:00am (kitchen open until 10pm). Friday/Saturday - 4:30pm-2:00am (kitchen open until 12am). Sundays for brunch - 10:00am-4:00pm (kitchen open until 3pm).

Fantastic! When you walk in through the giant swinging front door you enter what feels like a NYC high end bar/restaurant. Everything we had was great! Best kept secret in Charlotte!

The entry door is amazing, makes you feel like you’re entering another dimension! Music is loud but it’s a soundbar so it’s by design. I am lactose intolerant and didn’t realize the menu had a lot of dairy on it. I ordered the salmon on potato croquettes minus the crema so it was a little dry. The duck confit taco was to die for so id go back just for that. For drinks I wanted to have the miso old fashioned but they were out of the ingredients so they made a custom old fashioned just for me.

The interior layout of this small South End restaurant and lounge is beautiful and cozy. It’s like the silkiest, sleekest basement speakeasy, but without the upper level. The vibe is sexily dim and classy. I’d say it’s even romantic, if that’s what you’re seeking. While you dine on excellent food, you listen to the smooth sounds of the perpetual live DJ. The menu of small plates is cleanly divided into a West side and an East side. This refers to the Western world and the Eastern world, which translates into a Latin tapas side and an Asian tapas side. Highlights from the Latin side include street corn fritters and a smoked chile duck confit taco. Highlights from the Asian side include the delicious cherry blossom sea scallops and the blue crab spring rolls. I ordered the scallops and they were large and perfectly cooked. The vibe and the service are top-notch. Places like this make the Charlotte restaurant and lounge scene as world-class as it is.

Will be back - wonderful experience, great drinks, gorgeous ambiance. Only feedback is specifically the hostess working at 7pm on Fri Jan 31st - unpleasant and rude but didnt let that ruin it for me!

Food was okay. Nothing spectacular minus the blue crab spring rolls. Those are amazing! Cocktails were not great.

I love this spot and have been many times. More of a vibe on a Friday/Saturday for sure but great for a date or girls night!

I really enjoyed the ambiance of Orosoko. Dimly lit, aesthetically pleasing, they have a DJ that comes in during the evenings at 830 on certain days. I was a bit let down by the food. I ordered the cherry blossom scallops, lobster arepa and blue crab spring rolls. The blue crap spring rolls were delicious but the scallops and lobster arepa lacked flavor. The cherry blossom scallops came paired with fried rice and snow peas. However I did not taste a hint of cherry blossom flavor. I was really excited to try this dish due to the description. There was a wait for our waitress to come service our table and she seemed rushed. I would go back to try other selections on the menu / to hear the DJ.

Absolutely love this spot! Drinks and food are always perfectly crafted. Ambience is nice and cozy. Staff is welcoming and it’s a very unique experience.

Nice ambience. Small, intimate setting and the DJ played some nice vibes and kept the volume reasonable. The tables with the club chairs are a little bit uncomfortable in that the chairs are too low for the table. The service was ok. Our server did the bare minimum and would often disappear for long stretches of time. Empty plates and glasses would also be left on our table much longer than is appropriate. We had to ask for our table to be cleared. Cocktails were good and the food was good. The crab spring rolls and the desserts were delicious. I would go back, but probably not very soon. If the service is the same next time, we might not give it a third try. For the price point and presentation, service really needs to be much improved.
