Went for Christmas lunch/dinner which was "okay"... there wasn't many "trimmings" on the main meal. One particular waiter had AWFUL body odour, which lingered after he'd served us. Management needed to have dealt with that appropriately because it impacted the whole restaurant. This waiter also rushed my plate away before my husband had finished, and delivered the next course before he'd finished his last one. There was very minimal festive decoration so it felt a little like we were just having a normal lunch, and it wasn't very busy or atmospheric while we were there (around 5-6.30pm)

Pretty average .. Nice view overlooking the park but lacking atmosphere Asked for mash instead of chips and no deviations from the menu allowed, which was disappointing as portions very small for the price Food we did have was hot and tasty

Not a good selection. Food came out scalding hot, had to leave it 10 minutes before we could eat it. Waiter’s knowledge of the cheeses was zero, menu failed to tell you what cheeses were in the selection. Overall a 2* rating for this 4* hotel.

The food (set 3 course lunch, £34 each) was very nicely presented and tasty. No vegetables were included in the mains and sides were an extra £5 each. We purchased potatoes, but the fresh vegetable selection was poor. There were 2 types of cabbage (hispi cabbage and black cabbage) and sweet butternut squash; I would have liked some seasonal vegetables on the menu, like carrots, green beans, tenderstem broccoli, mangetout etc, but nothing was available. We were seated by the huge picture window which was cold and draughty. Even when we moved, the overall temperature was definitely on the cool side. We used to come quite regularly to this restaurant a few years ago. We found the new decor and layout far less cosy and welcoming and much more stark.
